It's been five days since Y/N started chemo, and the toll it has been taking on her body is intense. The boys are heading back home from the meet. As much as Y/N doesn't want them to see her like this, it's better than keeping secrets.
Her phone buzzed, and it was Makoto. Smiling slightly, Y/N read the text.
From: Makoto
We are almost at the hospital! We have a surprise for you, and some amazing news! Oh and Rin won his race, too. See you soon!
To: Makoto
I can't wait to see you guys! I'm not feeling the best, but don't worry, it just means the chemo is just working.
Once y/N sent the text, she immediately felt sick. She quickly grabbed the bucket next to her bed and vomited, pressing the red button next to her bed to have the nurse help.
Hanako rushed into the room, holding back Y/N hair. Once she was done losing the contents of her stomach, Hanako gasped as clumps of H/C hair was in between her fingers.
"Looks like you're losing your hair already...." Hanako's green eyes scanned Y/N's panic stricken face.
Y/N took a deep breath before speaking, "We'll cut it tomorrow. I'd rather lose all of it at once then watch it fall out slowly, like it's mocking me."
Hanako nodded, and took the bucket out of the room, "I'll get the doctor to give you some more medicine to calm down the pain, and nausea. We don't want you vomiting on your friends now do we?"
"No we do not," Y/N chuckled.
About 30 minutes later, the boys arrived in Y/N's room. She was busily typing away on her computer, doing her chemistry homework.
"Hello?" Makoto spoke up, and Y/n looked at the doorway at her team.
"Hey guys," Y/N smiled sweetly, all of the guys washed their hands before entering completely.
"How are you feeling Y/N-Chan?" Nagisa asked, scanning her state.
Her once S/C skin was pale, she had bags under her eyes, and had lost so much weight. One thing still remained the same though, her eyes. Her sparkling E/C eyes still had the same light in them, chemo or not, her bright personality was still there.
"I'm fine don't you guys worry. I'm just finishing up this week's homework." She assured.
Makoto walked up to her bedside, sitting on the edge, "Y/N-Chan....We made this for you..." All of the boys looked at the object Makoto handed the H/C haired girl. Some of their faces were slightly red, but were antsy to see her reaction to the gift.
As she unwrapped her present, her E/C eyes widened, and started to tear up.
"You guys...." Y/N started, smiling up at her team, "I'm so lucky to have you guys..You know that?"
All of the boys smiled down at her, and Nagisa sat down next to the fragile teen. Carefully, Y/N flipped through the scrapbook. Many pictures from the swim meet, school, events, and even random trips on the weekends. The many memories they shared were forever locked inside this book.
"Hey guys..." Y/N said, eyes focused on the picture of her win at her last meet, "If I were to die...I want this buried with me, and....each of you guys to give a little eulogy....I know it's a lot to ask, but you are all so important to me. I want everyone there that shows up to know how amazing you all are in my life..okay?" Y/N's voice shook, but felt a hand on her back. Her E/C eyes met with Nagisa's pink ones. All of their eyes showed sadness, but they nodded in response, unable to speak. Tears escaped the teens eyes, and she hugged Nagisa, and he embraced her back.
"Y/N-Chan....You'll make it. You're strong, and have been fighting this for so long. You're battle is coming to an end, and you'll end up on top. Just like every race you've won." Rei confessed.
"R-Rei-Chan...Ugh stop making me cry," Y/N said, laughing lightly, wiping her tears away.
A light knock was heard on the door, and there stood Hanako, smiling at the group.
"I see you're friends are here, and they aren't a bad sight either," Hanako winked, causing Y/N and some of the others to blush.
"H-Hey Hanako? Can you take a group picture of us? So I can add it to my scrapbook?"
Hanako nodded, "Of course, everyone gather around, be careful of the IVs."
All of the boys sat around Y/N, smiling for the picture. Even Haru cracked a slight smile. His mind was thinking along the lines of 'I'll only smile for her'.
The camera printed out the photo of the team around her bed. Seeing the bright smile on Y/N face made Hanako's heart warm up, and get all tingly.
After hours of talking about school, and another joint practice with Samezuka, the boys finally left, leaving Y/N and Hanako in the room.
"I haven't seen you this happy in a while Y/N" Hanako said, smiling brightly, her green eyes sparkling.
Y/N's S/C face blushed, "I miss them. Plus, they always make me smile in some way. They're my family."
"Do you like any of them..You know..looooove them?~" Hanako cooed.
Y/N nearly choked on her spit, "W-What?! N-No! I mean...maybe...I don't really know yet. I have feelings for all of them. Just, some are different than others."
"You have plenty of time to figure it out. You're still young dear. Love is just one of the many problems you'll face in your life." she chuckled.
"Right now I'm just focusing on beating this cancer, and keeping my grades up."
"That's a start, but always keep your friends in mind okay?"
Y/N nodded, "I will."
"Alright. I think it's best for you to get some rest. Goodnight dear." Hanako said, closing the door quietly behind her.
'I guess I should text Rin, and see how he is, too.'
1 missed call from Rin.
