Chapter 24: Birthday Gifts

"The princess will rule the kingdom and there will be nothing for me!" said Varelia, the sister of the queen. She looked old for her age. "I tried to kill that girl but the danger of being suspected is too risky to have." 

"So you want me to kill her?" The mysterious man was floating around the room but he stopped and sit on the top of his cane. 

"In her sleep, so no one can think that anyone is involve. Even you." she turned around and faced the mysterious man and smiled an evil smile.

"You want me to do the ancient magic trick? Clever." He went down and put his feet on the floor. "This will be my first attempt to do the Reveariac Aurora but I can do it. I saw my masters performed it and I did it to some chickens. This is also my first time killing an infamous human, my first time killing a human. You can count on me, I was trained to become a monster. It will be fun." the mysterious man was grinning but Varelia couldn't see it because his face was covered by the shade under his top hat.

                                                                                   The Princess and The Mysterious Man

Robert was back! Pero hindi siya pinatawad ng AP department namin. Siya ang elected AP president ng school namin kaya pinaexcuse siya sa klase para sa meeting nila. Robert was glad that we got the fifth place, tho I apologized that we only got the last place. He said that it was not the last place and he didn't care as long as I helped Lin. I did helped Lin but he did most of the works. Itong mga nakaraang weekend na ito, hindi ko nakikitang lumabas si Lin. Tinanong ko siya kay Nanay Tilda at sinabi niyang magdamag siyang natulog.  

It is Lin's birthday today. Nag-isip ako kung anong ibibigay ko sa kanya kaya humingi ako ng tulong kay Ate Mika. Ate Mika was busy and she said that she couldn't give her present to Lin that's why she gave it to me. Hindi ko pa pinapakita kay Lin yung regalo ni Ate Mika. By the way, nakahanap na ako ng regalo ko sa kanya at nasa bag ko lahat yun. Ibinalot ko na kaninang madaling araw bago kami pumasok.  

Robert went back to our room and he was exhausted. Hindi ko alam kung pumunta ba siya sa meeting o nagmarathon. Uwian na kaya sabay na kaming tatlo lumabas. 

"Pinaikot nila ako sa mga room para kunin yung mga officer. Mukha ba akong alalay? President ako. Hindi pa natapos yun, pinapunta ako sa mga teachers na hahandle sa amin para maguide kami." 

"Tinutulungan ka lang nilang pumayat Babs." sabi ni Lionel. 

"Hindi porket birthday mo ligtas ka na sa suntok ko." sinuntok ni Robert si Lionel sa braso at tawa sila ng tawa. "Nagustuhan mo ba yung binigay ko sa'yo?" 

"Ang daming matatamis ang binigay mo sa akin." reklamo ni Lin. 

"Para nga sabay tayong tataba." 

"Nangunguna ka na." sinuntok ulit ni Robert sa braso si Lin. "Pero salamat. Malaking bagay na rin yun. Salamat din doon sa mga souvenirs na binigay mo sa akin." 

Hinintay naming makasakay si Robert at naiwan na naman ulit kami ni Lionel. 

"Lin." 

naglakad si Lin papunta sa kabilang kalsada at sumabay ako sa kanya. 

"Oh?" 

"Kain tayo." 

"Gusto ko nang umuwi sa bahay."
