Sam took a seat in the chair near my bed after going to get something to eat from the cafeteria. "You sure you're ok?"

"Yeah. I will be. How are you? How'd the hunt go?" I asked. I was trying to make small talk to avoid thinking about everything. I was overwhelmed.

"It went well. I'm ok."

"That's good." I replied. We sat in the silence for a few minutes before he spoke up.

"Caitlin?"

"Yeah?"

"Why are you upset? You're really quiet and just making small talk. It's fine if you're just tired but I feel like there's more to it." He commented.

"When you first got here, you seemed super happy. You were beaming as you held our baby girl. Now, you've started seeming more like you're not happy and like you wish I hadn't been pregnant. It's just the way you look and act and I just don't really know what to think." I explained. He came over to my bed.

"Caitlin, honey, I'm not mad. I never was and never will be. I am super happy. What's made you think I'm not?" He questioned.

"Once I asked you to stay, you seemed reluctant and you said of course, yet I swore I saw that you had a shred of a lie on your face. You didn't want to stay and I didn't get why." I added.

"Baby, I was only gonna leave because the bunker isn't that far and that way we'd all have beds. I was all for staying when you asked me to. It's fine, but why did you want me to stay so bad?"

"Because hospitals creep me out, I don't like sleeping without you close by, this is all new for me obviously, and I'm worried about this all."

"I totally get that. I'm right here. Don't forget that you're not alone in this. Dean and I are here to support you and love you and care for her. I'm never leaving you."

"I love you, Sam. So so much."

"I love you too. Goodnight babe." He planted a kiss on my lips. He stroked the hair out of my face then gave me one more on the forehead.

"Goodnight, Sammy."

The next couple days drug on but we finally went back to the bunker. We had bought a crib and everything so the baby's room was all set up. We put Diana down and hung out on the couch for a while. I fell asleep leaning on Sam's shoulder and he wrapped an arm around me and put a blanket on me. Eventually, he carried me to bed and we went to sleep. Life was great with our little girl and things were truly good. I couldn't help but love that he and I went from old friends to a married couple with a little girl and Dean by our side.
