March 12th, 2027.
We held on for life as the ship went down the whirlpool. Water came crashing, roaring onto the ship. For a moment I was afraid of falling.
"Ross!" I heard Sterling yell at me. I looked over at him as he was hugging the pillar. "Grab the main sail!" He shouted, water in his face. The ship was fully engulfed by the whirlpool and we had gone down in it.
"On it!" I ran over and grabbed the rope for the main sail. I pulled on the ropes and closed the sail right before we had gone under. We all panicked and went for cover as we fully entered the portal. We all gasped and looked around us.
"What the hell?"
We were completely underwater, but not a single drop hit us. Looking through the water walls around us, you could see the fish, the mermaids and water pixies.
"I don't believe it." Ethan gasped, "this is the coolest thing we've done."
We were calm for a moment as we floated through the water, but then it started raining. Or rather the barrier that kept us dry was leaking. Victoria saw this as an opportunity to make her escape. She yanked the arrow out of the pillar attached the her sleeve and started making a run for it.
"Lucas!"
"Don't let her off this boat!" Ethan shouted. I ran her down as she got to the edge ready to jump of into the water. I leaped up and caught her in my arms, rolling on the deck.
"Hold on!" Trace said as he steered us to Port side.
"Let go!" Victoria shouted.
"Are you trying to die?" I snapped back at her. Suddenly water was everywhere again. Splashing and crashing on us all. I looked up for a moment and saw there was another whirlpool. I got down and covered Victoria. We felt the pressure on the ship as we went up and out of the portal.
"Well, that was ummm." Lucas said.
We had merged out of the transport door and were finally on even waters.
"Cold, very, very cold." Ethan said.
"Well, I guess we know why no one else has used that." Sterling started wringing out his long hair. We all began to wring out our wet clothes.
I took Victoria down to the cellar and locked her up. She kept staring at me.
"Can I help you?" I asked.
"You love her." She blurted out.
"Excuse me?"
"You, love, her. The Crimson Knight. You love her."
"And you came to this conclusion how?"
Victoria raised her eyebrow at me.
"Its obvious. You protected me the way you would protect her. Its clear as day." She said. Part of me had lost my cool as I was being read so easily.
"Loved."
"What?" She said.
"I loved her. We're not like that."
"I disagree. You can never stop loving someone."
"Is that why you fight? Because you're in love?" Victoria stood back for a second. She got all wide eye and shake up.
"King Lucifer is the reason you fight."
"No!" She snapped, "that bitch is. She took everything from me." Her voice broke. "She ruined everything." I watched as Victoria wondered the inside of her cage.
"My brother was in her guild." She said softly.
"What happened to you?" I asked. She looked up at me with tears streaming down her face.
"My brothers and I started playing this game. My twin and our little brother. My twin, his avatar name is Fang, was a member of the Red Rider's, but then he went missing after the guild was disbanded. Now my little brother might be all I have left, except he's out looking for Fang, who may not even be alive, because of her." Victoria slammed her fist on the wall. "If she hadn't.......them maybe..... then maybe Jack and Fang wouldn't be in danger. I need Lucifer so he can reunite me with my brothers"
Little did she know it was a lie.
