March 12th -13th, 2027.
Sterling held me in his arms as I fell apart.
So weak, I'm so weak.
"Let's hurry up and make this fast." I heard Ethan say. I felt Sterling stand up still holding me. We left the tower and made our way down stairs.
What's wrong with me?
I felt numb mostly. It was like no feeling, emotional and physical, could touch me.
What's wrong with me?
We made it down stairs to the main floor and looked around for guards.
"Can you walk?" Sterling asked me. I nodded and he let me on the ground.
"Okay, here's the plan." Ethan started, "Sterling and I will stay back and find the others, Sierra, go back to the boat. Trace has it parked right outside in the back you'll be safe there."
"What?" Sterling objected.
"Look at her she can't fight right now."
What's wrong with you?
"She needs to go back. I'm sorry." Sterling began to protest against Ethan's decision, but I immediately said yes.
"Are you sure?" Sterling ran his hand through my hair and I nodded again.
"Be careful."
I went out and slipped out the back while the guys made there way to the cellars. On my way down the hall I felt lost, like part of my mind wasn't there.
"Hey!" I heard a voice from behind me. An arm came up and sat on my shoulders. I looked up and found Trace smiling at me. He was all soaking wet and smelt just like salt water.
"Where are you going?"
"To the boat with you." I said sheepishly
Whats wrong with you?
"Why?" Trace asked me. I didn't answer, I didn't have an answer.
Why are you giving up?
"Come here." Trace took my hand and started taking me down a different hall.
"But the boats out there."
"I know where the boat is. I parked it there." We walked down the hall till we found a room,a trophy room.
"Oh my, I knew my brother had an ego, but I didn't know it was this big." Trace said looking at all the trinkets on the shelves and the ones hanging on the wall. Heads, swords, shields, arms, and full body armor hanging on walls and behind glass cases.
"Look, the crown from Leluna, the swords of all your men, ah look at that." He stopped in front of a glass case, like a small child he pressed his hands on the glass full of amazement and his sarcastic tone was loud and clear.
"The armor of the Crimson Knight." I looked up at my armor and felt this sinking feeling in my stomach. It looked like clothes for a doll in the case it was in. I felt so numb.
"Did he win?" Trace asked.
"What?"
"Did, he, win? I came to you because you were one of the strongest players. I came to you because I knew you had what it takes. Was I wrong?"
What's wrong with you?
Trace looked at me, seriously, slightly angry he walked toward me and began to tower over me.
"Did you lose so easily, like a weak little girl?" He snapped at me, "did you let him win!" We stood there for a moment staring at each other.
"The Crimson Knight, is it a joke to you?" He asked.
What's wrong with you? What the hell are you waiting for?
"Did you really let him get to you?" He said walking passed me and out of the room.
"Where are you going?" I asked him. He turned around and smiled at me.
"Going to talk to my brother. The ships outside on the east side." I nodded.
"Sierra, you know who you are. Act like it." He said just be fore leaving me alone. I turned around and looked at the glass case again.
Who are you?
