Chapter 28
“Ade! Get up already! Stop being so lazy!” Brian’s voice echoed in my room. I hugged Teddy tighter and said a muffled ‘go away’.
It was just like any other Monday morning. I wish he could just give up on trying to wake me up.
“No. Get up now,” he growled.
“Shut up Brian, you’re annoying the whole neighborhood,” I said with my eyes still closed.
“I don’t care. Get up now or else…”
“Or else what?” I asked sleepily.
I heard his footsteps getting closer and then he lifted me up. I smiled slightly, my eyes still closed. Is that all he’s going to do? I can sleep all day if he was carrying me. I don’t mind.
He was walking with me in his hands and I was falling back asleep.
Suddenly, I was thrown and water engulfed me, making my eyes snap open. I lifted my head to the surface and saw Brian smiling mischievously at me. I was in my bathtub which was filled with water.
“Did you plan all this?” I snapped at him.
“Yep,” he said smugly and I growled at him.
“Take a quick shower, breakfast is almost ready,” he said as he walked out of my bathroom and closed the door behind him.
I thought about going back to sleep in my tub but dismissed the thought when the water started to make me shiver.
I took off my clothes and showered quickly. I wrapped a towel around my body and walked out of my bathroom.
I opened my closet and picked out my clothes and underwear. When I was done wearing my jeans and yellow v-neck, I spun around to see myself in the mirror. That when I noticed that my window which was next to the mirror was open. I saw a shadow in Lucas’s room moving quickly and something that sounded like the clock he puts next to his window seat colliding with the ground.
My eyes widened slightly as I stared at the open window. When will I learn to close that?! Did he see me naked? My cheeks burned with embarrassment. I’m so stupid.
I brushed my hair and put on my shoes before trotting down the stairs to have breakfast.
Brian gave me a slight smirk when he saw me before going back to eating his eggs and bacon. I joined him as we ate in comfortable silence.
When I was done, I told him a quick ‘bye’ before leaving. I closed my front door and noticed that Lucas was getting out of his house too.
I acted as if I didn’t see him but when he saw me he sent me a cold glare. We started walking and he had no choice but to walk beside me or he was going to be late.
“Did you have to leave at the same time as me?” he grunted.
I giggled but I had no idea why. My eyes widened in shock and Lucas stared at me incredulously.
“I need sleep,” I mumbled to myself and sighed.
Lucas snorted, “Sleep? You need therapy.”
It hurt slightly but I tried to ignore it. I ignored what he said and just looked straight ahead.
He grumbled something under his breath but I didn’t catch it.
“Huh?” I asked, raising my eyebrows at him to repeat what he just said.
