Chapter 16

“Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we the-”

“JUST SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!” Jackson exploded like a volcano and I erupted with laughter.

“Works every time,” I muttered to myself. Lucas was giving me an amused look. He wasn’t affected by my ‘are we there yets’ and I’m guessing it’s because he does it too.

I tend to do that when I get bored and like to see people’s reaction. I think the funniest one was when I was with Brian about a year ago. He was taking me out for ice-cream and I kept on repeating ‘are we there yet’ till he ran purposely into the wall and kept banging his head on the brick wall and screaming ‘shut up’ followed by curses till he passed out. When he passed out, I laughed so hard that I got hiccups. Then I found a stick on the side of the road and started poking Brian’s limp body with it. People walking by on the street were giving me weird looks but I was too busy laughing at my passed out brother.

“We’re almost there,” Lucas’s voice brought me back to reality and I looked around noticing the vaguely familiar road. I knew that road but I couldn’t remember where it leads. I scrunched my eyebrows, concentrating. Then it hit me, the amusement park. I gasped,

“We’re going to the amusement park?” I shrieked.

“Uh-huh,” Lucas nodded, smirking at my reaction.

I bounced up and down with excitement, “I’m so excited!” I squealed.

“Obviously,” I heard Jackson mutter but I ignore him.

We were going to the amusement park! I can’t wait to ride the roller coaster and the Ferris wheel.

I was now jogging to the park, ignoring the boys’ chuckles. When we finally got there, I grinned widely at all the rides there.

“Roller coaster first!” I ordered, running to the line where the roller coaster was. Jackson and Lucas followed close behind, both smirking at my excitement. It looked a bit creepy how they were both smirking. They are somehow similar…

The line got shorter and I started getting the anxious feeling you get every time before you ride the roller coaster no matter how many times you’ve done it before.

When it was our turn, I took a seat between the two guys and waited for the sudden movement. It came soon enough and the familiar excitement built up inside me.

“That was awesome!” I exclaimed when we got off, slightly dizzy because of all the movement.

“Agreed,” Lucas and Jackson said at the same time.

“What next?” Jackson asked.

“Ferries Wheel,” I squeaked as I started walking/running where there was a short line of people waiting for their turns.

I stood and waited patiently (Yeah right) for my turn to come. Finally after what seemed like decades, it was our turn.

I loved how nice it felt when I was on top. I could see the whole park and the people there. I felt happy, light, and care-free. Many people would be afraid of heights but I was the complete opposite. I loved heights. It made me feel like I was closer to the sky and to the fluffy white clouds. It made me feel peaceful.

When the ride was over, we were walking around the park trying to find a suitable ride.

“How about the merry-go-round?” Lucas asked.
