I really don't know what's wrong with this jerk. I'm trying to help him and he shouts at me? On top of that, he sleeps basically through the entire day!

My phone rings and I see that Nancy is calling me. "Hello?"I answer.

"Girl, who's this writer of yours? He's trending! I guess I'm gonna employ him right away!"she says.

"Wow. Seriously?!"I exclaim, not being able to contain my excitement.

"Yes! I mean the subscription isn't even out yet, I just posted it on our e-magazine and look, he's got almost like twenty thousand views. I'm telling you, Pepper Hansen, I want more writings from this guy and I'm ready to pay for each article."she says.

Damn. But I don't even know what Jason would say. And that's why I don't know what to say to Nancy.

"Hey, listen, can I call you back in an hour? I'm a little busy right now."I lie.

"Sure. Just let me know when are you gonna send in the next piece."she says.

"Yes of course."I say and then hang up.

...

Finally when Jason opens his door, I sigh in relief.

"Good morning."I say.

He just nods at me in response.

After a good few moments of awkwardness, we both say at the same time,"Can we talk?"and then both don a vague smile on our faces.

"So...Firstly, I didn't want your sympathy. I can take care of myself. That's why I was so furious, I don't like being dependent on someone. Secondly, those were my personal writings. I don't want the world to know about my life story. Even though you gave in my entry under an alias, I feel exposed. Lastly, I appreciate your concern towards me but I cannot let you post my personal writings."he says and finally takes a breath in.

"I understand, but Jason! The response was so good that I just got a call saying that they're gonna pay you for every article you write."I tell him, hoping he'd understand too.

"I said I wouldn't let you post my personal writings."he says.

"I know, I heard you! But...you can write something less personal, right?"I ask, hoping he'd agree.

He thinks for a while, not making eye contact. When he finally looks into my eyes, Jason just shakes his head and goes back into his room.

Ugh. Why is he so difficult to deal with?!

There's a limit to being stuck up. This guy crosses all of them. Sigh.

...

I knock on Jason's door several times before saying,"Jason! Come out! Its time for our jog."

I try to open the door anyways and barge in but its locked. Jason never locks his door! Something really is wrong.

Suddenly, the door clicks open and Jason appears in front of me. He looks rather tired and frustrated, but most importantly, there is a very miserable look on his face.

"You okay?"I ask.

"Uh yeah. Can we cancel the jog today?"he asks calmly.

I really don't know why, I feel bad for him and heaps of sympathy inside me wants to let him have his alone time. "Okay I guess."I say.

"By the way, you're welcome." he says and goes into his room, locking the door behind him.

Wait what? 'You're welcome' seriously? Shouldn't he be saying thanks? I let him go today.

One confusing soul.

I go back into my room to fetch my laptop so I can watch a movie at least. I always smile at the new Mac and miss my old one at the same time. Oh well. I switch it on and go to the folder I keep my movies in. Just then a notification pops up.

There's a mail. Early in the morning?
