Selena's POV

"I texted you and called you, but you didn't answer. So I just wanted to look at you if everything's alright," Jacob said, looking worried. I remembered that I turned my phone off after Justin kept calling and texting me.

"Yeah, sorry. It's up in my room, and I was here."

"Okay, so everything's alright?"

"Sure." I saw that he didn't believe me. Then I went to the bathroom to get water for the flowers when I saw myself in the mirror. My eye makeup was rolled down my cheek. I forgot I cried, and now I know why he looked confused.

I quickly wiped it away and went back to the living room. He still stood there looking around. "You can sit down," I said, watering the flowers on the table.

"What's up with you? I don't know you this way."

"Which way do you know me?"

"Always laughing, kidding, and just happy. So what's up?"

"Sorry for not being what you expected. But I'm also sometimes down."

"I didn't mean it like that. You don't want to talk, do you? Is it again about your ex-boyfriend?"

"Maybe."

"Please talk with me. I just want to help you. Are you back with him?"

"That's none of your business." I regret everything I said because it wasn't very nice. I was just so upset. I think he should go before I'm too mean to him.

"You better go. Sorry for my mood." I took him by the arm and pushed him toward the door.

"Sel, listen to me. I really just want to help you. Please talk with me."

"No, Jacob. Listen to me. You really have to go now. We'll see each other tomorrow at school."

"No, Sel. I—" Then I cut him off by closing the door. How should I decide between two boys when I can see only one and love the other one?

Justin's POV

I kept calling and texting Selena, but she turned her phone off. I have to talk to her. I wanted to travel to LA this weekend too, but I didn't have enough money, and my mom didn't feel good. The doctor came yesterday and wanted to bring today the results of the test he did with my mom. I came back from town where I met with some friends.

The phone rang, so I quickly ran up to it. "Hello. This is Justin Bieber."

"Hi. Your mom got in the hospital and told me to take you to us. The address and the tickets for the plane are on the table in the kitchen. Please hurry because your flight goes in about three hours."

"Who are you?"

"I'm your dad." I couldn't believe that. Did that really happen? My dad? I never knew who he is and where he lives. My mom said always she doesn't want to talk about him, so I accepted this. I didn't even know his name.

I hung up right after he said that because I thought it was just a dream, but when I saw the tickets in the kitchen, I had to realize that it's true. I packed my stuff and drove to the airport. But what was actually with school and all that? I shouldn't think of it.

And what was actually now with mom? I can't just leave her. I haven't arrived at the airport yet, so I decided to first go to the hospital. Here aren't many, so I knew where she was. It was quite close to the airport. I went in and asked where she is, and they gave me her room number.

I found it and saw her there. She laid on the bed, and when she saw me, she smiled. "Hey Justin."

"Mom...how are you?"

"I'm fine. Did Jeremy call you?"

"Jeremy? Is this the name of my dad?"

"Yes."

"Then yeah, he did."

"Good. Your flight is going soon. You should be at the airport right now."

"But mom. I can't leave you here alone!"

"You can. We organized everything. You will go there to school, and when I'm healthy, you can come back."

"But..."

"There's no but. And now go!"

"Okay. I love you, mom."

"I love you too. And promise me to clean things up between you and Selena."

"I'll give my best." Then I went outside with a little tear in my eye. My mom was there always. And now I'm leaving her. That doesn't feel good. It took about two hours until I finally sat in the plane.

"Welcome on our way to Santa Monica."
