Joey's POV

Nightlock.

Joey: No Shane. This won't work.

He already lifted the berries to his mouth.

Shane: Either you're with me or you win. You're choice.

My heart stopped. If I died I would be with Shane. If I didn't I would lose him. I lifted the berries to my mouth too.

Shane: Ready? 3...2...1...

I dump the berries into my mouth. But a voice stops me from swallowing.

X: Stop! Stop!

I spit out the berries and fall onto my butt. Shane spits out his too and falls to his knees next to me.

Shane: Did you... swallow any?

Joey: I don't think so...

Shane: Good.

He hugs me tight while we continue to listen to the frantic voice.

X: You both win!

It worked?! How?!

X: Congrats to the winners of the 99th annual YouTube Games.

Shane started tearing up. I kissed him. We did it. And I didn't lose him.

Shane: We're going home.

Joey: I can't wait.

I replied with a smile too. Then a hovercraft picks us up and takes us on.

Shane's POV

People are glaring at me. Then we landed in some building. Joey and I were dragged off separate ways. I was thrown into a room. There I saw Chad and President Tube.

Chad: Hello Shane. Congrats.

Oh shit! I'm in trouble.

Shane: Um... thanks.

Pr. Tube: Yes...

Squints his eyes at me.

Pr. Tube: Congrats.

I fall back into a chair. Chad leaves so it's just me and him.

Pr. Tube: Is this some sort of childish game to you?

Shane: What?

Tube: The YouTube Games! You think you can cheat and lie then just get away with it?!

Shane: I-

Tube: No. You have the Capital on your case. Remember that before doing anything... rebellious.

Shane: But I-

Joey's POV

I was standing next to Chad. We were waiting for Shane. What could be wrong with him?

Shane's POV

I was gasping for air on the floor. The tears were still flowing from my eyes. I sat up and tried to process everything.

Peacekeeper: Let's go.

He drags me out to Chad and Joey. He runs straight up to and held me. He whispered in my ear.

Joey: What happened?

Shane: N-nothing. I'm fine. Let's go.

Joey: You sure?

Shane: Yeah.

He gives me a quick kiss and then we get on a train to go back home. We lay down on a bed.

Joey: Shane?

Shane: Yeah?

Joey: Can we tone it down when we get back home?

Shane: Of course.

Joey: And are we... together?

Shane: Let's wait a bit before we decide.

Joey: Great.

He smiles at me. I lean over and connect our lips. I pull back and return his smile. Finally we're safe...
