Chapter 18- Shane's Plan

Lisa's POV

The hovercrafts flew off. I was in the lead guiding our rebel troops.

Lisa: Chad!

He walks up to me. He looks exhausted. I roll my eyes and face him.

Lisa: Something's gonna go wrong.

Chad: Oh just relax.

Lisa: No Chad. Once we break the forcefield the Capital will be all over us. I can't believe Shane is trying to scarify himself for Joey.

Chad: Those were his orders. Rescue Joey then him. The rest of our troops will go after the rest of the Tributes.

Lisa: I know the plan.

Chad: We have to stick to it. If anything were to happen to Joey, we'd lose Shane's support.

Lisa: Support for what?

Chad: Everything. They've become a symbol of the rebels and rebellion.

Lisa: Who would that help? A war between the Capital and the rebels?

Chad: It wouldn't be much of a war.

Lisa: Why is that?

Chad: The Capital would have a hard time fighting District 13. They live underground. Practically untraceable.

Lisa: Where are we?!

RD: Almost to the Arena ma'am.

Lisa: Good.

I check on the other hovercrafts. They are all on course and are ready to execute the plan. I take a deep breath and sit down next to the window.

Lisa: Please Shane...

Chad: We're all worried. Just remember that Shane decide to take the risk. he knows very well what could happen.

Lisa: I don't want the Capital to take him. He's too stubborn for his own good. They kill him before he spills the beans.

Chad: I know. But he would be too afraid to lose Joey. He'll cave eventually.

Lisa: So...

I couldn't think of anything else to say. Well except some small talk.

Lisa: Joey has no clue about the plan?

Chad: He knows nothing. We'll have to explain everything to him.

Lisa: What if he flips out?

Chad: We need to get to a safe place before we can reunite them unless Shane is in here too.

Lisa: I'm praying this works.

Chad: Why do you doubt that it will?

Lisa: There's so many holes. And the second we break through we have only a few minutes before they attack us.

Chad: You're right. But let's stay optimistic.

Lisa: Yeah...

RD: Ma'am! We've reached the Arena!

I bolt up and start shouting commands. This needs to be flawless.

Lisa: On my count!

Lisa: 3!

Lisa: 2!

Lisa: 1!

Then all hell breaks lose...
