Starr's POV
"Thank you! I'm glad for this time we spent together!" My counselor said, showing me out of the office for the last time.
"So did I!" I said, faking a smile. I hated every minute, but hey, anything to get me out of this place, right? I got home and called Jinxx.
"Hello?"
"Guess who never has to step foot in a counselor's office ever again?!" I said proudly.
"Umm, Ronald McDonald?" We laughed, maybe harder than we should have. "I'm proud of you Starr!"
"Thanks! So, we only have a week of school left, then I get to move in with you!!!" I said happily.
"I'm so excited baby!" Jinxx replied.
"So do I!" I said, then realized what I'd just said. "I mean so am I." He laughed.
"You're cute when you can't speak."
"Yeah? Well you're cute 24/7, so..." I giggled like a little school girl.
We stayed up until about 1:30, just talking cute to each other, then finally hung up.
*Friday*
I sat in my last class. My phone buzzed.
Jinxx: I'm right outside the school. <3
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Only ten minutes left. I listened to the teacher drone on as best I could. Nikki sat in front of me, Drake next to me, Ash next to him, Shelly in front of Drake.
Finally, there was only a minute left.
"Sixty." I whispered. "Fifty-nine.." I smiled toward Drake.
"Fifty-eight..." Drake said, smiling back.
"Fifty-seven." Now three people were saying it. "Fifty-six." A quarter of the class... "Fifty-five..." About half of the class. "Fifty-four." two-thirds. "Fifity-three." Now the whole class. "Fifty-two." Even the teacher. "Fifty-one." You could hear other classes. "Fifty." As if the entire school were counting down at once. "49. 48. 47." We were bouncing in our seats now. "33. 32. 31. 30." Half a minute left. The school was one, no enemies existed in that moment. "21. 20. 19." Bullying didn't exist. "14. 13. 12." Popularity didn't exist. "Ten." We got louder. "Nine." and louder... "Eight. Seven! Six!! Five!!! FOUR!!! THREE!!! TWO!!! ONE!!!!!!" Time seemed to slow down. The bell rang throughput the school. papers, bags, pencils, were flung into the air. The halls were flooded with the signing of yearbooks, the goodbyes of emotional seniors and their friends, the beeping of phones as people traded numbers.
I ran out into the courtyard, where you could hear plans being made; going camping, heading to the beach or the lake... Sleepovers.. I ran off of school grounds with Nikki, and hopped into the car.
"SCHOOL'S OVER, MOTHERFUCKERS!!!" I yelled. Nikki and CC shared a kiss, as well as Jinxx and I. It was only them this time. The rest of the guys were on their way with All Time Low, Pierce the Veil, and moving trucks. Our goal was to get everything packed and gone within one day, as well as buying furniture for our rooms, and shit like that.
I described to Jinxx the feeling of being free from school in my experience. "Now write that down and use it as a creative writing paper for college!" He laughed, and so did I.
"College my ass. I'm never going back to school!!!"
*The next day*
The doorbell rang, and in flooded everyone, buzzing around. Within two hours, we had everything packed, in boxes, and heading out, except for one last suitcase. I was getting all my toiletries together when I found my blades. Over a month now. I didn't even feel tempted.
