I.O.U a fall

Chapter 9

the doctor stood there smiling at John, while John looked like he was about to cry or fall apart, John tried to make sense of it all but it was too much a tear rolled down his face and looked up at the doctor.

John " your the doctor right, so you can help me" John spoke between sobs while the doctor tried not to look at him, for a man who has seen whole planets fall apart and didn't shed a single tear seeing John like this was too much, even for the doctor.

the doctor "yes John I can help you but it will come at a price" the doctor was talking so quietly like he didn't want anyone to hear even John.

John wiped his eyes and looked back up at the doctor he tried to sound brave but his voice was shaky "I will do anything to get Sherlock back, he is alive right" suddenly the doctor turned away and didn't say anything. he had his hand on the blue box and his head was hung down like him too was crying. John didn't know what to do he just stood there waiting for the doctor to answer.

finally the doctor turned around his eyes were all watery and his voice was so quiet John had to move in closer to hear.

the doctor " I am so sorry John but Sherlock Holmes ......is dead" the doctor paused for John to answer but John never did he just looked at the doctor and didn't say anything for a few minuets.

John "NO Sherlock Holmes is alive I saw him, HE MUST BE I SAW HIM HE WROTE ME NOTES HE CANT BE DEAD please don't be dead Sherlock please!" John fell to the ground tears streaming down his face he was so positive that Sherlock was alive, who else would send him notes and who had a long black coat and curly hair, John wasn't the only one detective lastrade thought he was alive too.

the doctor sighed and helped John up he patted John on the shoulder and gave him a tissue to wipe his teary eyes.

the doctor "John I know this hurts .....but .....I was the one who sent you the notes and dressed up as Sherlock ....it was the only way for me to talk to you" the doctor finished the sentence quietly he thought John would shout at him but John burst into tears and collapsed onto the doctor's shoulder.

John " I thought he was alive, he was the only person I truly loved and I thought he was back, I want him back so much............I miss him so much doctor why does he have to be dead."  John was so upset he could hardly stand, the doctor couldn't hold him up for much loner so he sat John down on the pavement while John poured his heart out, the doctor felt so bad for John and he wanted to help him but it would mean making sacrifices and big ones at that.

the doctor " John .... there is a way to bring him back but its really complicated and you would have to agree .....you see the thing is .....in time there are fixed points that cant be changed no matter how hard you try ....you see Sherlock's death was a fixed point in time......but I might have away to unfix it but that would mean you will have to jump of the building instead of Sherlock." the doctor finished while John wiped his eyes, the doctor was positive that John wouldn't do this however ....

John "I will do it .....come lets do it before its too late" John jumped up form the pavement and walked into the blue box he was amazed his red puffy eyes popped out of his head. but the doctor was still out side he was amazed that John had said yes as soon as he came back to reality he joined John in the TARDIS.

John was walking around with his mouth open he had never seen anything like it the TARDIS was bigger on the inside. John turned to the doctor who was still amazed at John and why he said yes.

John "its bigger on the inside than the outside, doctor" John gave a little smile and walked back to the doctor.

the doctor "yes it is ..... but wait John I don't think you heard me correctly do you fully understand what you have do ......to save Sherlock you will have to end your own life and Sherlock will never see you again and you will never see Sherlock again. instead of you standing at Sherlock's grave he will be standing at yours, John are you sure you want to do this?" the doctor looked at John directly.

John " ever since Sherlock died my life has been horrible, bad things kept on happening to me and I have had enough so what if I die. I would rather have the man I love live his life than me hating myself every day because the man I love is dead. I have made my decision I want Sherlock alive even if I have to die, I love Sherlock more and anything and this is the least I can do for him." John looked at the doctor who was gobsmacked he just looked at John in amazement I cant believe this John would sacrifice his life for Sherlock the doctor stood there for a moment and the TARDIS was so quiet the both of them just stood there waiting for someone to speak.

the doctor finally looked at John and kissed him on the head and moved to the TARDIS controls he pressed a few buttons and off they went back to the day Sherlock died so John could die instead.......
