Sherlock looked at The Doctor with a grave face, his eyes were blurry, his heart was pounding and most of all he just wanted John to be ok but deep down Sherlock knew that John and him will never be the same again.

"But he'll get better now?" Sherlock asked looking directly into The Dorctors , old, tired eyes. The Doctor looked at Sherlock, but not directly into Sherlock's eyes it was too painful for him.

"I had to wipe his mind completely. Every trace of me or the TARDIS. Anything John and you did together, everywhere you went, all of the crimes you sloved, your death. Had to go." The Doctor told Sherlock, his voice was quiet but with a touch of pain and sadness appeared and Sherlock could see that he had no other choice.

"All of those wonderful things we did together, he did" Sherlock's voice cracked and he looked down he didn't want The Doctor to see the pain in his eyes.

" I know. But that version of John is dead. 'Cause if he remembers, just for a second, he'll burn up. You can never tell him. You can't mention me or anything that happened today. For the rest of his life." The Doctor became serious and looked into Sherlock's soul making sure Sherlock understood.

"But the whole world is talking about it. The world nearly ended!" Sherlock raised his voice slightly and looked at The Doctor.

"It'll just be a story. One of those John Watson stories, where he misses it all again" The Doctor gave a half smile but even that couldnt hide that he too was trying not to cry.

"But he was better like this, with me and you!" Sherlock sobed and collapsed to the floor, his heart was breaking into tiny little pieces and once again the emotional pain had gotten the best of Sherlock Holmes and this time it was too much.

"I just want you to know there are people out there safe becuase of John and you. And there are people living in the light and singing songs of what you and John did today. They will never forget him and you. While he can never remember. But for one moment, ine shinning moment, he was the most important man in the whole world." The Dcotor whispered with deep respect for what John and Sherlock did in his voice.

"He still is. I love him" Sherlock whispered back inbetween sobs.

"Then maybe you should tell him that once in awhile"  Sherlock looked down with guilt as The Dcotor moved toward the door.
