~Flashback~
I met him in a bar, he caught my eye with his blonde hair and blue eyes as he danced in the bar his thick accent that sounded so sexy. I remember our first kiss like it was yesterday, we went out for dinner and when he walked me home we kissed outside my apartment. We became a couple, went on dates, brought each other presents. He told me he loved me, I believed him back then. I told him I loved him aswell, he was everything to me. Then after a year things started to change, he'd go out and not come back until the early hours. He stopped being affectionate and became cold hearted and snappy. We argued so much, I tried so hard to save our relationship but it was never enough... I sometimes wonder how it went so wrong. I realised I already knew the reason why, the reason being Elliot...
~End of flashback~
"What is your problem?" he exclaimed grabbing a beer from the fridge and taking a long swig, "I waited up all night for you. You told me i'll only be a couple of hours its 3 am Sauli!" I cried. "Oh im sorry mom I didn't realise I had to be home when you said" he said sarcasm dripping from his voice. "What happened to you huh? Where the guy I fell in love with?" I asked shaking my head. "I don't know maybe you should search the telephone directory. I went out big deal, your making into this huge thing" he snapped.
"You were with him werent you? I know you were" I shouted. He laughed coldly "if by him you mean Elliot yeah I saw him, hes a friend Ive told you so many times im not fucking him!" he shouted slamming the bottle on the side. He turned to face me anger flaming in those blue eyes, "you must think im an idiot. All the messages, oh I miss you and oh I wish I was with you" I yelled waving his phone at him. "You checked my phone?" he asked, "it kept ringing with Elliot wanting you. Admit it Sauli youre totally with him, your cheating on me and I know it!" I cried.
He scoffed as he snatched his phone and stormed up the stairs, "don't walk away from me Sauli just tell me straight. Am I not enough for you?" I asked as I followed him. "Im so over this, your paranoid Adam. Accusing me of all these things its kind of pathetic, maybe you should look at yourself before bitching to me" he snapped pulling a bag from the shelf. "Ive never cheated on you and you know It. What are you doing?" I asked. "What does it look like im done adam. With you and us" he said. I watched frozen to the spot as he packed his things shoving them into the bag. "Sauli please you don't need to do this" I said my voice lower now all the anger gone at the thought of him leaving me.
He pushed past me as I grabbed his wrist, "Sauli I didn't mean it" I said almost begging him now, he shook my hand off and marched down the stairs. I watched helplessly as he shrugged on his jacket his hand rested on the door handle, "Sauli don't go I love you" I answered searching his face for answers. "I loved you too once" he told me. "You don't anymore?" I asked quietly, "no adam I love Elliot" he replied my world crashing round me I was right all along. "Fine go, be with Elliot just don't come running back to me when his dumps your ass!" I said with a burst of anger. "Don't worry I wont" he snapped, the door slammed shut behind him the noise echoing around the now empty apartment.
I heard his car start as the sound slowly disappeared up the street, my eyes fell on the picture of me and him on the table. My hands reaching for it, my knuckles white as I gripped it. I cried out in frustration as It hit the wall opposite smashing into pieces, things from the table soon followed as I sank to the floor amongst the broken glass as silent tears streamed down my cheeks. He was gone, he had cheated on me but I still loved him. My whole world had fallen to rubble at my feet the pain of a thousand heartbreaks stabbing my body like knives.
A sharp knock at the door had me on my feet hoping it was him, I pulled it open but the person who greeted me wasn't Sauli. "Oh amber" I said half heartedly, "wow don't sound to disappointed" she told me. "Im sorry I didn't mean.. " I started my words caught in my throat from unshed tears, I was glad it was dark. "I heard shouting and smashing is everything ok?" she asked always the concerned neighbour, "I don't know.. I mean I cant.." I said flailing over my words. I let out a shaky breath, "nothing is ok" I said a quiet sob escaping my parted lips.
"Adam?" she asked as my hand dropped from the door as she gently pushed it open. Her arms round me in an instant, her shoes making the glass underfoot crack more. "What happened?" she asked he lips close to my ear, "hes... Gone... left... Sauli" I said in between shuddering breaths as I tried to stem the never ending stream running down my face. She pushed the door shut "come on lets go get a cup of tea and you can tell me all about it" she told me as I nodded and she led me across the broken glass and into the longue.
