A/N: So, now you've met Ryan and saw that he isn't incapable of showing actual emotion.

Trust me...this story isn't going to end any time soon. It's just getting interesting.

----------------------------------------

It had been three days since Ryan nearly killed me, accident or not, and I hadn't seen him since. I've asked around, and none of the other patients had seen him. The doctors and nurses didn't give me any useful information, either.

In all honesty, I had been avoiding Ryan for the past two days, but now I was getting worried. The fact that nobody has seen him didn't help, either. There was one last resort.

"Where's Dr. Saunders?" I asked a nurse.

"He's in his office. Would you like me to give him a message?"

"No; thank you." I walked away, quicker than I had intended.

Finding my way down a few long hallways, I ended up at Dr. Saunders' office just as another patient left the room. I caught the door just before it closed and knocked.

"Come in," he said.

I entered his office and found him sitting behind his big mahogany desk, scribbling something down on some papers in front of him.

"Dr. Saunders?" I called.

He grunted, acknowledging my presence.

"You wouldn't happen to know where Ryan is, would you?"

He looked at me with a confused look on his face before realizing it was me asking, and removed that expression.

"I believe he's in his room. Why do you ask?"

"I just need to talk to him."

He gave me a confused look again.

"You... want to talk to him?"

"No; I need to."

"Why?"

"Can you just tell me where his room is?" I snapped.

He just looked at me for a moment.

"Please, Dr. Saunders." I pleaded.

He sighed. "Go down the hall to the right, turn left, go all the way to the end, turn left again, walk all the way to the intersection, turn right, and it'll be the third door on the left."

"Thank you."

"Sure thing; call for help if you need it."

"Okay," I left the room and followed his directions until I found Ryan's door.

Once I was actually here, I found myself hesitating to knock on his door. What would happen if he tried to kill me again? What if he's already dead? What if he killed himself, and that's why nobody has seen him?

Why hasn't anybody seen him? Did he just never leave his room? Does anybody else even know who he is?

Shut up, Elijah. I thought. You're thinking too much. Just knock on the door and see what happens. If he's dead, he's dead; if he kills you...then he kills you. Simple as that.

I took a deep breath and knocked on the wooden door.

After a moment that felt like hours, I heard someone on the other side.

"Just open the door, Elijah." He said.

I was taken aback slightly, but proceeded to enter the room.
