My eyes fluttered open to the bright fluorescent lights of the hospital
My eyes immediately landed on Tyler
Who was awake
"They're gonna do surgery in a few hours... They spoke to my mom"
He said blankly
Avoiding eye contact
"It's a low probability of it coming back if I keep getting chemo"
He just looked down at the blankets and picked at his nails quietly
I stood up and walked over to him
I helped him out of the bed and he latched onto me suddenly
Crying silently but violently into my chest
I rubbed his back trying to sooth him and holding him tight but I was careful of the cannula
"Josh I don't want to do this anymore, stop the treatment, stop the surgery, I want it to be over"
He cried out, making me cry
"Don't say that, you gotta fight, I'll be here the whole way through"
He just cried
"I'm scared josh"
I took my hands from around him and cupped his face, forcing him to look at me
"I'm scared too baby boy"
I said as I pressed a quick kiss to his lips
And he spoke against mine
"I like it when you call me baby boy"
I smirked kissing him again
"I love you"
I whispered
This was the first time it had been said
And it's perfect
"I love you too"
He whispered back
I smiled against his lips and pulled away
I lead him to the chair I woke up in and sat
I patted my lap for him to sit and he giggled
He sat and brought his legs up, snuggling into me
