"Josh honey wake up"
My eyes fluttered open to a stranger
"Who are you"
She smiled
"I'm Tyler's nurse, Ashley"
I sat up
"Is he okay?"
She nodded
"Follow me, he is in a different room now"
I stood up quickly, following her lead
She entered a private room
Room 21
He was asleep
Pale
Wires and tubes coming from every direction
But he was still breathing
I sat down on the chair next to him and held his hand
"Press the buzzer if he wakes up"
I nodded and Ashley walked out
I turned to him and leaned over, pressing a kiss to his forehead
"My baby boy"
I whispered against his forehead
My phone started to vibrate
I sat back down and pulled it out of my pocket
30 new messages
2 missed calls from andy
7 missed calls from joe
1 missed call from pete
9 missed calls from dallon
6 missed calls from patrick
And
25 missed calls from brendon
My phone started to vibrate
Incoming call from brendon
"Hello"
"DUDE WHY DIDNT YOU PICK UP THEY WOULDNT LET US IN THE HOSPITAL ARE YOU OKAY"
"Oh I was asleep and yes I'm okay and they probably didn't let you in because your stoners and Tyler was in surgery"
"Oh coo- wait surgery?!?!"
"Yeah they tried to cut out or they did cut out the cancer"
"Okay... We're still at the desk and they won't let us see him"
I looked at Tyler
How cold he looked
And how sick he looked
"Um he is asleep right now and he looks exhausted soooo can you come back later"
"Oh okay well um... See you later. Bye"
"Bye"
Then I hung up
I held Tyler's cold skinny hand in attempt to make it warmer
I stood up and decided to pull up the covers for him to keep him warmer
I sat back down still holding his hand
