We follow Zeke to a hidden elevator and he presses a button labeled 100. The doors close, and the movement makes me dizzy. My surroundings seem to spin, and I feel like I'm about to throw up. I giggle, and Cassandra leans on me for support.
I put my arm around her, smiling. We exit the elevator and the wind hits my face. I realize we're outside, on the top floor of the compound. It's cold, but I don't care. Zeke falls to the floor and brings Lauren down with him. She laughs, and without further ado, they start making out. I look away, my face no doubt turning red.
I clear my throat. "So, is this what dates are all about? Kissing someone else in public while others watch?" Cassandra smiles. I like the way she looks when she smiles. "No... that's just Zeke and Lauren's idea of what a date is. Come on. I have other plans."
She grabs my hand, and I let her pull me away, content with the way her skin feels against mine. "Wait." She turns to look at me. "What is it?"
I glance at Zeke and Lauren, who are still on the ground. "Don't they want us to stay here?" Cassandra grins. "I don't think they'll mind if we leave."
