Chapter Four: Raging War

I run up the wooden stairs to the cobble path. Katelyn had gone back aboard her ship so I could try and find who had seen our little fight that had occurred.
I stop and look around before I see movement in front of me. I run to find who it is but stumble into someone. I quickly get up and run once I see who it is, Aphmau. "Hey! Stop!" I heard Aphmau yell. I kept running till I got to the bridge and jumped off and landed on the ground below it.

~~In The Morning~~

       I walk up to the guard station and walk inside. It was empty, perfect. I walk over to the ladder and climb it. Once I get to the top I find Garroth's door closed, but there was voices coming from inside.
       I listen closely before it got silent. "Good Garroth, you are doing well. I am glad I am helping. I will see you in a few days." I knew that voice. It was Lillian's. I run over to Laurence's room and hide as I hear her footsteps leave the building.
       I wait a bit taking in what I just heard. 'What could be happening in a few days?' I say in my head. It then hit me. I run over to the ladder and climb down. I run out of the station and to find Dante.
       It took me a while but I finally found him standing at the front gates. "Dante. . . is there anything. . . special going on. .  . in. . . a few days?" I ask in between breaths. Dante stays quiet a bit of confusion in his eyes.
"I don't know what you're talking abou-," he stopped and his eyes filled with realization. "Tracey. You should go ask Aphmau. I don't have the authority to say." I walked closer to him giving him a serious face.
"Dante this is serious. I need to know! Now! Please, help me out here!" Dante sighed before nodding. "We are going to war, with Scaleswind. Something popped up and, BOOM we are going to war. Aphmau. . . she is still trying to figure out what to do, and it doesn't help that we have a visitor, and to top it all off Garroth, is not himself."
I nod. I thank Dante before heading to go find Aphmau. I soon found her walking out of the guard tower by the docks. "Lady Aphmau. May I talk to you?" I ask when I stand in front of her by the door way of the tower. "Ya sure. What do you want to talk to me about?" I give a small smile.
"I recently heard about the upcoming war. I wish you the best of luck, but I can not stay." Aphmau gives me a curious look. "What do you mean?"
       I rub the back of my neck. "Something popped up, and I need to leave to figure it out. I am sure that Lady Katelyn will take care of you. Be carful Lady Aphmau. I am sorry," I say before running off.
       I find myself sitting in a tree for the last four days that I would be here. I watch over as Aphmau sent her kids away with most of the villagers. I put on my mask and run to the front gates late that night before the war.
       Not too far away from the front gates I jump from a tree limb in front of Zane and The Lord of Scaleswind's army. "Ahh, is that you Tracey?" I nod pulling down my mask.
       "So, what have you found out?" I thought about his question. I sat down on a log by a fire they had set up for the night. I told him a lot, but not everything. It was hard. Telling him everything after everyone in Phoenix Drop being so kind to me.
       "Well, I got what I wanted! Now Miss. Tracey! I have a little. . . present for you," Zane said pulling a necklace out of his pocket. On this necklace was a small red stone. "Hold this with you, and I will tell you when to put it on tomorrow."
       "As you wish." I turn to walk away, but stop as Zane speaks again. "I want you to be up front with me tomorrow. Once we get in! I want you to find Lady Katelyn, and bring her to me at once!" I turn around to face Zane. "Yes, Zane. As you wish."

~~The Next Morning~~

       I walk up front with Zane and The Lord of Scaleswind. Not to long later I put on my mask before we reach the front gates. We stand there waiting. Watching. Listening for the moment when the war begins.
       I watched as Laurence and Brian appear at the gates. Not to long later Dante comes running with Aphmau. I look up and I meet Aphmau's eyes. She looked at me, as if she knew who I was. Though she had seen me like this. The night she saw Lillian, Katelyn, and I have a small conflict.
       "Zane! Please don't do this! I will marry you if you let this go!" Aphmau yelled. Zane, who was standing to my right laughed his wicked laugh. "I will take you're hand after this is over Aphmau! Don't you worry, but right now we are in the middle of a war aren't we?" (I know these aren't the same words they said!!! I did that on purpose!!)
       "Return Nicole now! And this can all be over!" The Lord of Scaleswind yelled. I watch as they talk for a while before the war had slowly begun. They started to charge the closed gate when suddenly I see Brian open it. After that the wizards blasted a hole in the wall. This wasn't going well.
       I climb the hole in the wall and run into the village. I try to find Katelyn, but to no avail. I run back to stop at the plaza. They started to burn it. "Hey! Guards! STOP!" I yell as I run at them. They didn't stop. "I said STOP!" I scream as I pull out my sword.
       I cut a few down before they started to scatter. "It's you! You were the one I ran into!" I turn around to see Aphmau, with Garroth behind her. I was about to speak, but was interrupted. "Well Aphmau, I think you will be happy to know who this person is really. Let's show them, shall we?"
       I hesitate. "Zane, I do not wish to take off my mask. I have done all you're wishes, an did not cease to find Lady Katelyn. Please. . . leave me to do the rest on my own." I hear Zane growl. "Defying me now are we?! I ordered you to do something! Do it!"
       I look to Aphmau, and Garroth. "We lost the war Zane. I will not do as you wish now." I put my sword back in its holster and turn around to Zane. I see The Lord of Scaleswind, come stand by Zane. I quickly take my spot to the right of Zane, before the talking started up again.
