Chapter 51 - XXL

Even though we had gotten back yesterday afternoon, today we're going to New York. Marshall, and I are staying for the week. Alaina, Hailie, and Whitney are gonna be with Kim this week so it kinda works out perfectly.

"Hailie, Whitney, Alaina come down we gotta go" Marshall yells from the bottom of the stairs.

Today I'm wearing a black stretch knit cut out top, contemporary distressed jeans, a checked dolman jacket, and a pair of all black converse.

Hailie, Whitney, and Alaina came running down the stairs with their book bags on their backs. Marshall opened the front door, the girls walked out of the house got into the back of my car. Marshall grabbed our duffel bags, and we walked out of the house locking the door behind us. I got into the drivers seat, Marshall got into the passenger seat, and I took off to Kim's house.

We got to Kim's house fifteen minutes later. I hugged the girls, and Marshall did the same. Kim let them inside, and came out to the car.

"Where you guys going that you have to drop them off so early?" Kim asked.

"We're going down to New York for the week" Marshall says.

"Oh cool, have fun. Maegan we're going out when you come back" Kim said with a smile, and backed up from the car so I could back out of her driveway.

"Aight, I'll text you later, bye" I said, and backed out of her driveway.

The plane ride was smooth, and easy to get out of the airport with no problem. No fans tried anything. We just pulled up to my old apartment building with security of course, and they escorted us upstairs to my apartment.

Once I walked into my apartment I felt at home. I ran straight into my bedroom, and jumped into the bed. The room is really empty since I moved everything to Marshall's but, the bed is still comfy as a motherfucker.

"Really is this the first thing you do when you walk into your apartment" Marshall asked while standing at the door of my bedroom.

"I always will, I've done it since I bought this bed" I said, and rolled around in the bed getting comfy.

"Oh hey, do you want to sleep, or should I invite my mom over?" I asked.

"Invite her over, but can I take a shower first?" Marshall asked.

"Did you really just ask me that" I said.

"Yes" Marshall said.

"Don't ask just do" I say, and take the duffel bags from his hands. Then pushed him into the bathroom, threw a towel at him, and shut the bathroom door. I walked into my guest bedroom, and just started to write while I wait for Marshall to come out of the shower.

About thirty minutes later Marshall appears in the door frame of the guest bedroom with a smile on his face.

"Why you so smiley?" I ask, chuckling a bit.

"Good news for you" Marshall says with a bigger smile.

"What!" I say very excited.

"You're gonna be on the double XL 2011 freshmen cover" Marshall says

"No way!" I say

"I'm serious" Marshall says, and I start jumping around with a big smile on my face.

"We've got shit to do this Friday" Marshall says, and I just can't contain my excitement.

"Mom's gonna be here any minute by the way, she's bringing spaghetti" I say, and Marshall's smile grows wider.

Marshall, and I sit on the couch in the living room while waiting for my mom to come over. I kinda forget what happened but I ended up sitting on top of him kissing.

"Hey Maegan, oh let's not get freaky now" my mom says, and starts to laugh. I get off of Marshall's lap, and go to hug her.

"I kinda expected you to knock but" I say while hugging her, and chuckling.

"It's okay, as long as I don't see that something else we're okay" My mom said laughing.

"Hey Marilyn" Marshall said, and gave her a hug.

"Where's the spaghetti?" I asked.

"On your counter" My mom said, and I went to heat it up. I walked back into the living room, Marshall, and my mom were already talking.

"Okay, what happened between you too. Why'd you guys break up. I never got an answer" My mom says.

"Umm... We just needed a break" I say, knowing that if I tell her that Marshall cheated she'd flip.

"Tell me the truth" My mom says, and Marshall tells her everything. From me catching him cheating, me sleeping in the studio because I was going to leave Detroit, to me staying in Detroit, not talking for like a week, and then getting back together on Christmas.

"Fuck all this sad shit, Marshall, and I are really good right now" I say smiling. Marshall then looks at me, and shakes his head towards my mom. He makes two X's, and a L with his hands.

"Oh mom, I'm gonna be on the double XL 2011 freshman cover" I say, and my mom starts smiling like crazy.

"Yeah they're taking pictures this Friday" Marshall says.

"Who else is gonna be on the cover?" My mom asks

"Meek Mill, Big K.R.I.T, Cyhi The Prynce, Lil Twist, Yelawolf, Fred The Godson, Mac Miller, YG, Lil B, Kendrick Lamar, Diggy Simmons , and MG" Marshall says, and winks at me when he says my name.

"That's great!" My mom says, and you can hear the excitement in her voice.
