Chapter 22
The cruel fate
"It really is you, right? Sting?", the girl's voice frightened him. It scares him.
Why is it that she knows him?- was what wraps him to be afraid. He already figured out that he had forgotten many things but kept in silence as if he is himself and had no doubts.
"Missy, are you free?" Some guys tries to hit on the girl. "Let me go!", she shouted. Then she screamed for help however, Sting still kept himself from moving.
"Sting-kun!!", the girl cried for help to him. 'I can't', he kept telling himself until he no longer hears the girl's voice.
He looked back worried.
"I'm sorry....", he cried and regretted his action that he made.
~The next day
"Hey, have you heard? Someone got assaulted yesterday. Even though this town was supposed to be a peaceful town free of crimes", rumors are spreading. All about what happened yeterday.
"How horrible!" Lisanna yelped looking at the news. "Well, the girl was lucky. Someone saved her", Yukino somehow felt relieved. "Those guys are popular in assaulting lone maidens, luckily someone had taken up the job to capture them.", Minerva drinks her morning tea. "What happened to the girl?" Sting asked a bit worried, as he was at fault in that incident.
Minerva and the others looked at him with wonder as he hardly ever got any interest on those kind of news. "The girl was in no harm thankfully." Yukino answered him. "I see", he then stood up and left them.
Minerva's noticing changes on Sting's behavior that she decided to follow him outside.
Sting stood near the coast and stared blankly at the shore. 'Thank goodness she wasn't harmed', he said to himself relieved and a smile formed on his face.
"Hey, why were you avoiding me last night?"
The girl came.
'Ah, she's back again', he thought and as if he had given up running away.
"Who are you?", he mustered his courage to speak up to her, however, still not facing her.
Minerva caught up to Sting but before she approaches him she found the familiar blonde girl trying to talk to him. She hid herself and restricted on just watching them for now. 'Lucy... and Sting', she said to herself as she watched the sight of them together.
"I'm Lucy, don't you remember?" the blonde girl said and comes closer towards him. "Stop!", he shouted at her halting her from shrinking the distance between them. "Sting? What's wrong?", she asked scared that she's not welcome.
He couldn't bear to stand there for long and ran again. "Ah, Sting!", she called out but decided not to follow him anymore. Minerva came straight towards her and greeted her. "Minerva-sama....", she cried.
