"All of last night's happenings are now wiped out of your brother's memory." Riccardo's spoke softly from behind me.
I combed through my damp hair one last time and after placing the hairbrush on the dresser I turned around to look at Riccardo. "As much as I don't like the idea of my brother's mind being played with but thanks." I said not really looking at him or anything.
"How is he and what did you tell him?" I asked this time looking at the much cleaner and healed Riccardo.
"He's currently in the shower if my hearing is correct and I told him he dozed off on the couch while waiting for you." Riccardo answered.
I nodded. "And when he just woke up, didn't he recall anything?"
Riccardo shook his head. "I think he'd head was probably throbbing to think straight so I took it to my advantage and cleared out his memory before he could ask anything."
"And-" I began.
"Hey." Riccardo said softly taking my hands in his. He looked in my eyes for a long moment and then continued. "Zachary remembers nothing, he doesn't have even a scratch from last night's attack; he's absolutely alright."
I took in a breath and nodded. "I know but how long will it be before someone else I care about is attacked?"
"Tiana-" Riccardo began but I cut him off.
"I know, I know, the longer I am around them and with you their lives will always be in danger and this isn't the right time to speak about it."
"I'm sorry." Riccardo said in an almost whisper.
I pulled my hand out of his and ran my fingers thought my hair. "You don't have to apologize, I knew what I was getting into when I decided to be with you, it's just..." I trailed off.
"Hearing the theory of the dangers involving your family because of being in a relationship with me is easier than actually seeing it happening." Riccardo finished for me.
"You stole the words out of my mouth." I said sheepishly.
Riccardo wrapped an arm around me and I leaned into him. "Everything will be fine eventually, I'm sure of it." he said softly and he kissed the top of head.
I moved away and looked up at him. "How's your wound? Did the witch come?" I asked.
"She didn't need to; your blood seemed to have miraculously healed it without the help of a witch." He answered.
I furrowed my brows. "Is that a normal thing or a mate thing?"
Riccardo shrugged. "I honestly don't know. Greta said she has an idea but she was quite astounded by it too."
"Maybe I'm not an ordinary person either, maybe I possess some sort of ancient power than cures the supernatural." I teased with a smile.
Riccardo grinned. "Perhaps but I am certain that you're far from ordinary." He leaned over and pecked my lips.
I smiled at him when he pulled away. He took my hands in his again. "I think I heard the shower go off, so your brother will be out any minute."
"I'll meet you in the woods with the rest alright?"
I nodded and he caressed my knuckles, the same knuckles that belonged to my fingers, the very fingers that I willingly cut and offered William my blood. I hope Riccardo wouldn't find out about that, I knew he wouldn't understand why I did it and he would surely be furious.
"What's the matter?" Riccardo asked breaking away my thoughts.
"Nothing." I answered curtly. "I was wondering how William is." I said a little hesitantly. "I mean didn't your witch need to check him out because he was terribly injured."
