Chapter 35

We were both now naked. He had started playing with my bra straps and pulled at them with his teeth with one raised eyebrow and a wink. My legs were wrapped around his hips, one arm around his chest and the other hand down beside my head. Our kisses had become so much more passionate and intimate and I had to sometimes bite into the pillow to stop my moans from escaping from the room. Moving my hips as best I could to the rhythm he created, I let the waves of pleasure wash over me as he slid a hand onto one of my inner thighs.

The one time I tried to speak, he had placed a finger onto my lips to stop me and I took it in my teeth and shook my head gently. Arching my back, I dug my nails into his back and he released a growl into my ear. Tracing his hand up his side, he grabbed my arm and pinned it down by my head as he pinned the other down at the same time. It did not scare me that he had me trapped like this; in fact it formed a whole new buzz in my pulsing body.

Biting hard down into the pillow, I moaned into the soft fabric as he took us to climax; and with one final thrust, my back pushed up again before dropping down and my body became limp underneath his panting one. Bringing one hand up, I touched his chest and felt the racing beat of his heart pulsing through my fingertips. Releasing my legs from around him, he flopped down next to me and my hand dropped down onto my sweat covered skin. Not wanting to get up, I rolled onto my side and shuffled close to his side putting my head on his shoulder. Slipping his arm under my side, he brought his hand over and onto my rump while turning his head to kiss me sweetly on the forehead. We closed our eyes and fell asleep in a haze of adrenaline.

Waking up, my head pounding as though someone had hit me with a hammer, I reached across under the duvet and grabbed at... the under sheets? Life rolled through me.

‘Huh? Baz?’ I asked looking around the room; and then I looked down. ‘Wha..? Wah!’ I screamed as I dropped over the edge and landed on my butt.

‘Oh good, you’re awake,’ came his voice from on the bed. I peered over the top of the duvet and saw he was curled up on the end of the bed.

‘What... what happened last night?’ I asked as I pressed my palm to my thumping temple.

He crouched down to me and held his hand out for me to grab so he could pull me up off the floor. ‘Oh, you don’t remember..?’ he chuckled as he stepped to his wardrobe to get dressed. I took a step towards him but stepped on my jeans, I picked them up and all of my other clothes that were strewn over the floor before swiftly getting dressed myself.

It clicked suddenly what had happened, and all the blurry memories flowed through my already overflowed mind. ‘Yeh, I do now. Erm, I’ll be back up after my shower.’ I hastily got dressed before warily stepping downstairs to my room (grateful I hadn’t left my keys downstairs). I dumped my clothes on my bed (after taking them off a second time), got into my dressing gown and slipped into the little shower room next to mine where I had an hour long, well deserved shower.

Back in his room and, more importantly, back in his protective arms. I tiptoed up so I could look directly into his eyes. There was a hunger in them and I had a funny feeling he was trying to tell me something but I wasn’t seeing the entire message. His teeth held my lower lip in their grasp and I closed my eyes and tried to remember as much of last night as I could. When my head started pounding from too much forced memorising, I smiled cheekily and he knew straight away that I had recalled all that had happened between us on his bed when we had got home.

‘Don’t act all innocent with me, Missy, you didn’t exactly act all angelic yourself last night,’ he stated as I tried to do my puppy impression.

‘Damn, I thought it would work.’

            ‘Nope.’

I rolled my eyes with a wry smile. ‘Ah well, guess you know me too well.’

He narrowed his eyes in that evil way that almost made me melt. He grabbed my leg at the knee and pulled it up to his hip. ‘More than too well. You’re my mate and I’m going to claim you.’

My hands writhed their way from his belt to his shoulders, feeling his muscles under my finger tips. ‘Mmmm, I sort of like the sound of that,’ I said adding a lick along my lips to tease him.

‘That’s not fair. But of course you’re going to like the sound of it.’ He released me completely and walked over to his door with a smack on my butt. I growled but he paid it no attention. ‘You’re addicted to me.’ And with that he sprinted down the stairs as I chased him out of his room all the way to the garden, changing to my wolf as soon as I landed in the hallway. I hated that he had said that and that was I didn’t completely like the idea of him ‘owning’ me; he sounded too much like Cayleb and it writhed through my entire body.

From off the patio, I leapt onto the grass and into his side; we slid over the wet grass and ended up sprawling in a heap of fur, tails and legs. Sniffing and lurching up onto my feet, I faced him and started barking mentally.

‘Woh, woh. Stop barking!’ he snapped and I dropped down into a crawling position, whining.

‘Sorry but you were asking for that,’ I told him, keeping my reasons to myself.

‘So, didn’t mean you needed to pounce on me.’ He shook his body, grass blades falling out of his fur. ‘But that was fun.’ He started laughing but I sat there with a frown.

‘Is everything ok, Alpha?’ came Charlie from on the patio.

We turned our heads to look at him. ‘You know I don’t like being called that, Beta.’ Charlie snorted; neither of them liked being called by their ranks. ‘See, I may be the alpha dog but I don’t like being reminded. Everything’s fine, was just teasing this one here.’ He gestured with his head to me. ‘And she decided to chase me.’

‘Oh, well that’s fine then.’ Charlie padded over to us. ‘Tag you’re it!’ he barked and caught me off guard as he tagged me with his paw. Oh how childish, but perhaps I was being too stuck up with what Baz had said.

We ran around chasing each other, acting like kids in primary years, around the garden until I could barely run without my lungs gasping for air with every stride. Lying down, I let my breathing settle back down and my heartbeat to normalise.

‘You ok?’ Baz asked, putting his muzzle down by mine and looking into an eye.

‘I will be,’ I whimpered. ‘So that’s what they get up to.’ He bowed his head more.
