Chapter 2 - New School

Hibiki's Pov

I woke up about 5:30 am, I don't know why I woke up that early it's just something was bothering me about last time when the pictures of Akatsuki appeared in my mind.

I went downstairs to get something to drink as I heard a feminine voice. "You're awake, huh?" Rika-san said. "You should've rested more since there is more time before going to school." She recommended. "....." I didn't responded. "Well you should get ready, after all it's your first day of school." Rika-san said. I sighed as I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth as Rika-san make breakfast. After that I got changed into my clothes. I wore black stockings, white cap with a red-coloured star and a hammer-sickle. (Top Clothes: Sailor-like uniform (Serafuku), brown school shoes. (Just like the image in the media.) and went downstairs to eat breakfast. It was toast and fried egg. "So....Are you nervous?" Rika-san asked. I just stayed silent as I kept on eating. "You're just not that social, hmm....maybe I should change your- " "No." I said with a blank expression. "Nah, I should." Rika-san said. "I said no." I said "Fine...but you should make some friends, I don't want you to be an antisocial freak." Rika-san said. I stood up "Thanks for the meal." I quickly grabbed my school bag then I started to head to school. "Have a nice first day of school, and don't forget to make some new friends." She waved at me while smiling. I went up to the escalator then I saw the same boy with dark blue hair and red highlights at the front that I saw in the card shop. "I should get to school." I thought as I ran.

- Time Skip -

I just arrived in front of a big building. "This should be it." I went inside the building. As I went inside the building, there were a lot of students chattering. Then suddenly people started staring at me since I looked weird maybe. I met one of the teachers and he had blonde hair and blue eyes which looked like he's american. I told them that I'm a new student so I don't really know much about the school. The teacher just smiled and lead me to the class. After we arrived at the front door of the class, the teacher told me to wait here since the class hasn't started yet. I went to the seat where no one sits and sat down while everyone is looking at me in awe.

- Time Skip -

When I looked beside me across from the other desk that is beside me, I saw the same boy with dark blue hair and red highlights at the front. I think his name was Gao. It looks like he has something under his shirt. It looked like a big lump. Then a boy with a tiger shirt came in and jumped onto the boy's desk. "Looks like the rumors were true! I'm so sorry. I had you all wrong. I thought you were a man among men. I considered you my lifelong rival, but..." Then the boy with the tiger shirt started laughing. "What's with the baby lump? I get it now, you were a girl all along!" "Of course not! Shut up, Noboru. I'm going to hatch this egg and make it my Buddy monster!" He yelled then the egg had slipped off his shirt as the egg rolled over the floor. "Hey! You should take better care of that egg." Noboru said. Suddenly legs sprouted out from the egg. "Whoa!" Everyone exclaimed. "Legs!" "It sprouted legs!" Then the egg started running out of the room. "Hurry, catch it! Hey, wait for me! My egg!" They started running after the egg. I was curious so I followed them. They stopped running until they ended up outside of school. "Hey! Where are you going?" Gao asked. Then Gao reached out his hand out towards the egg. "Come on. I'm not going to hurt you. Get over here." Gao said. The egg started walking towards Gao step by step. "That's right. This way!" "I'm sure that you're going to be my-" "Lunch." Noboru exclaimed. Then the boy with the white bandana and brown hair stomach was growling in hunger. The egg jumped and kicked Gao in the face. Gao had just fell down onto the ground from the kick. The egg started to climb over the wire fences. "Hey! Get down from there!" Gao ordered. As the egg was climbing, one of it's foot slipped off and was about to hit against the ground. "Watch out!" Gao said as he catches the egg safely into his own hands. "Thank goodness! You aren't hurt, are you?" Gao asked then the egg started to hatch. "I-It's hatching!" The egg she'll had cracked as a pair of red eyes popped out of the shell. "Bal?" "It talks! What's your name?" Gao asked. "Maybe he doesn't have one yet." A girl with purple pigtails and with glasses said. "Don't have one yet, bal." The egg mimicked. "Well, he is a newborn." A boy with brown hair and a white bandana around his head said. "Newborn, bal." It mimicked again. "In that case... From now on, your name is Bal!" Gao said. "Come on, just because he ends his sentences with 'Bal'? That's just sad. I'll come up with a really cool name..." Then an egg shell had hit against Noboru's face. "Bal like it, bal. Bal, bal!" A little dragon has hatched out of his egg shell. "That's right! You're Bal! I'm Gao! Mikado Gao!" Gao introduced. Bal started licking onto Gao's face. "Gao, bal! Bal, bal, bal!" Bal exclaimed. "Gao, are you seriously going to make this guy your Buddy? Huh? Why are there cards inside his shell?" Noboru picked up one of the cards as he reads it out. "Sun Dragon? Oi, Baku. Check out this card." Noboru said. "All of the other cards are Sun Dragon attribute as well." Baku said. "As far as I know, there aren't any Sun Dragon attribute cards in Buddyfight." The girl with purple pigtails and glasses said. "Oi, shrimp." Noboru called. "Who's this, bal?" Bal asked. "This is Noboru. Kodo Noboru." Gao replied. "*stares at Noboru's shirt*" "What is it?" Noboru asked. "Kitten shirt, bal!" Bal exclaimed. "It's obviously a tiger!" Noboru said. "Kitten shirt, kitten shirt!" Bal chanted. "This! It's yours, isn't it?" Noboru asked as he hold up the card in front of Bal's face. "Bal!" Bal exclaimed as he took out a black marker. "H-Hey, stop that!" Gao said. "Gao! Can't you do something about him?" Noboru asked. "Baku! Hide the cards!" Gao said. "O-Okay!" Baku said while taking the card away from Bal. Then the girl with purple pigtails and glasses came towards Bal as she kneel down to Bal's level. "Nice to meet you! I'm Kuguru Uki. Let's be friends!" Kuguru said then Bal was staring at something. Then Bal climbed onto Kuguru's back and turned on and off her lights. "This is neat, bal!" Bal said. "I'm so sorry." Gao apologized. "It's fine. I'll be okay." Kuguru said. "Want to play more, bal!" Bal said. "Bal!" Gao yelled. Suddenly I sense a dark presence, I quickly hide behind the walls. "You seem to be doing well. Mikado Gao." A boy with white hair and red streaks on his hair which looked like a devil's horns including his red eyes. "It's you! Gaen Kyoya!" Gao exclaimed. I looked over to Gao, I saw a huge dragon with three heads and to be exact, it has four heads. It has red scales and razor sharp teeth and claws. "Azi Dahaka..." "I'll take custody of that dragon." The boy with white hair and red streaks said. "So his name is Gaen Kyoya." I thought. "Custody?" "What's custody, bal?" Bal asked. "That scary guy is going to take Bal away." Kuguru said. "Bal doesn't ewanna go, bal!" Bal said "Why are you taking him? What did this little dragon ever do to you?" Noboru asked. "That dragon ignored the rules of the human world and came to Earth without permission. At Gaen Financial Group we take custody of such dragons. After all, who knows how dangerous they might be." Kyoya said. "There's no way that Bal's dangerous!" Gao yelled. "How can you be so certain? You don't know anything about that dragon, do you? Now give me that dragon-" "I refuse!" Gao yelled. "Forget that 'custody' nonsense! Bal is my Buddy! I won't let you do whatever you want!" Gao yelled in anger. "In that case, why don't you prove it to me? Through a Buddy fight, of course." Kyoya said as he approaches Gao and Bal. "What?" "What is a Buddy fight, bal?" Bal asked. "It's a card game where you battle alongside your monster partners." "If you can defeat me using that dragon, I'll acknowledge him as by our Buddy. If you lose, you'll hand over that dragon to me." He said as he hold his core deck case which was completely different from a normal core deck case. "You mustn't, Gao! They say he's the world's greatest Buddyfighter! He's a modern megastar!" Kuguru exclaimed. "Besides, Bal is probably a Sun Dragon attribute monster." Baku said. "If you put in the wrong attribute card, it'll throw off the entire balance of the deck!" Noboru added. "Well? Do you want to fight me, at the Aibo Gakuen fighting stage?" Kyoya asked. "Bal wants to Buddyfight, bal!" Bal exclaimed. "What?!" "It's settled then. I'll be waiting for you after school, at the fighting stage." Kyoya said as he walked away.

At the fighting stage, I was behind the seats where I was examining the fight. "Here we are at Aibo Gakuen's fighting stage, where a Buddy fight is about to begin! But wh-wh-what's this? The most powerful dragon in the world, said to have enough power to destroy the world... Azi Dahaka, is the Buddy of one of the richest people in Japan, the former young leader of Gaen Financial Group! Today, Master Gaen Kyoya himself honors us with his presence! This may sound forward, but I, Nanana Paruko, Elementary School Sixth Grade student... and member of the Broadcasting Club, will be delivering the commentary! My partner is, of course, my Buddy! Martian UFO Takosuke, from Hero World! However, Master Kyoya's opponent has not appeared yet! Who could it be?" "What's Gao doing?" Noboru said. "We made it in time." Baku said. "Baku! Are you sure this is going to work? Making a deck out of the cards in Bal's shell..." Noboru said. "We've done everything we can." Kuguru said. "I'm the great deck builder, Baku Omori. I made sure the deck was put together properly!"

"Whoa! Looks like the fighter is taking the stage." "Sorry to keep you waiting, Paruko!" Gao apologized. "Kept you waiting, bal!" "Wh-Wh-What's this? Master Kyoya's opponent is... Aibo Gakuen Elementary School Sixth Grade student, Mikado Gao! Oh? Could that dragon at Gao's feet be...?" "Bal is Gao's Buddy, bal!" Bal exclaimed. Suddenly an explosion occurred in front of the audiences seats. "I've been sleeping beneath Aibo Gakuen for countless years... I know everything about Buddyfights! I, Ozon B, will be providing analysis!" A zombie looking guy appeared out of nowhere. "Uh, nobody asked you." Paruko said. "What? I cant hear you. By the way, I'm currently on the lookout for a Buddy!" Ozon B said. "Eeeek!" Kuguru squealed. "Your head's on the wrong way around..."

"Bal! I'm going to protect you! Eclipsing the darkness with flames, and brightening the hearts of the mistreated! The Mighty Sun Fighter is here!" Gao said. "The Mighty Sun Fighter?" Bal asked. "Now! Let's get things started!" Gao said. "Get things started, bal!" "Now let's luminize!" "Sure!" Gao answered.
