Cleo
"So tell me," Looking up I smiled as Gabriel sat down next to me at the small lunch table. "How was the date?"
After swallowing a bite of inedible school food, I turned my body towards his. "It was... really nice," I said while biting my bottom lip. "I never thought I would like someone this much, I never even imagined myself getting so close to someone. I'm just really starting to fall for him."
Gabriel smiled before putting a piece of pineapple into his mouth. "I'm so glad it went so well for you two. Do you guys have another date scheduled?"
"Not that I know of," I said while watching a group of cheerleaders walk past our tables. All of the girls smiled and giggled at Gabriel, who didn't even bat an eyelash. When the girls glanced in my direction they all gave me the stink eye before whispering to each other.
"Don't you girls have somewhere else to be skanks?" Gabriel dryly asked while putting another piece of pineapple into his mouth.
The cheerleaders didn't seem to care that they just got insulted, or were too stupid to realize what Gabriel just said. All of the girls were still looking at him like he was the greatest masterpiece they've ever seen. Honestly, it was pretty annoying.
They finally left when Gabriel spit a piece of his pineapple at them, which only made them giggle before walking away. "Geez, can you be any more famous?" I asked while watching him roll his light blue eyes.
"I really don't understand why they think I'm so great. They're probably too stupid to know that I'm clearly gay. Anyway," he said while rolling his eyes again. "Do you want to go to the mall after school? There's a book that I saw the other day that I think Pete would like."
Smiling, I swallowed a large chunk of the grilled cheese before saying, "That sounds awfully nice. Is this just a friend gift or is this a friendly friend gift?"
He rolled his eyes before glancing down at his lap, a slight blush creeping up onto his cheeks. "It's just a gift. Anyway, would you be okay with going there after school?"
"Of course, that sounds really fun. I'll let Noah and Wes know later."
The rest of the day seemed to drag on, simply because the idea of going to the mall with my best friend was exciting. When the day finally ended, I practically skipped to Gabriel's car before blaring The Beatles. Once we ended up at the mall, we wandered into a bookstore so Gabriel could buy his book for his friendly friend.
As we were walking towards a small clothing store, a familiar sight caught my gaze. I completely stopped in my tracks when I saw Sebastian talking with Athena. A smile spread across my lips as I glanced at his perfect face, just one glance at him made my heart start beating extremely fast. However, my smile faded when I saw him lean forward and kiss Athena on the lips. "What?"
Before I could fully process what was happening, I started walking over to them. "Sebastian?" I quietly asked.
He pulled back from Athena, his green eyes looking hard and cold. These were definitely not the same green eyes I fell for earlier. "What?" he asked while putting an arm around Athena, who looked really smug. I wanted to smack that smug look right off of her stupid face.
"What's going on?"
"What do you mean?" He asked while running a hand through his dark hair. "I'm just hanging out with Athena."
