Chapter fourteen
Jimmy’s POV
I dropped the gun and the bat. She looked at me and I looked at her.
“Jimmy,” the way she said my name made me feel weak at the knees, she was all I ever wanted and here she was with some guy she hardly knew.
My heart was literally breaking and I didn’t know if she cared.
Billie’s POV
“Can you not just leave my girlfriend alone?” I could feel myself burning red with anger.
“Your girlfriend?” Jimmy started to laugh. “You don’t know a thing about this girl.” He pointed at her as if she were his to claim.
“Of course I do.” I counter argued.
Jimmy shook his head. “When’s her birthday? What’s her favourite colour? What’s her middle name? How’d she get that scar on the very top of her forehead? Why does she dye her hair black? What’s her favourite thing to watch on T.V?” I looked at him blankly, embarrassed I didn’t know the answers.
“I highly doubt you know all –”
Jimmy raised his hand to me and looked at Adrianna directly in the eye. “May 23rd, red, Lily, she ran into a wall when playing tag with her friends, Roswell.” His words all strung together, he answered so quickly and confidently I didn’t know what to do. “And she fucking hates the snow, because the white makes her eyes hurt. If she doesn’t get potato and leek soup when she’s ill she’ll be pissed with you all day and she fucking loves it when you play with her hair.”
Jimmy’s eyes started watering, he was fighting his hardest and all I could do was stand and watch.
“Jimmy, you can’t do this. You don’t treat me right.” Adrianna bit her lip, trying to stop her tears, she failed and they began rolling down her face.
“It hasn’t always been like that, I swear we could be how we were. Honestly.” He was really begging now. I thought he might even get down on his hands and knees.
“I am with Billie now.” She said simply.
“Yeah well he doesn’t need you. He wants you, I need you. I am a mess without you, what am I supposed to do without you here with me? I can’t cope without you. You…” his voice cracked and he started crying his heart out.
“Jimmy, please…leave, don’t do this to me.” Her words were pleading, her face contorted in a broken stare.
“I am nothing without you. I am in love with you, every last part of me. I don’t just want to fuck you, I want to do those things I know make you happy…like when I make you toast first thing in the morning, or lay your clothes out for you and…and…”
Adrianna ran over to him and hugged him as he sobbed and coughed. “James, please James you have to go now. I can’t do this…”
They broke apart and Jimmy wiped his face, which was soaked with tears. “Tell me you don’t love him.”
Adrianna looked at me and I waited for her answer, not sure what she would say.
“Not yet, but it looks like that way.”
He nodded, kissed her on the forehead and then left.
