This is a lengthy chapter, but it's really important to the story so read it with love! Aha.
Also I just want to say that wearetheminority is awesome and one of the nicest online people I have ever met. Like seriously, not only is she uber talented and witty (as well as honest) she is really nice to talk to! I hope she has a wonderful birthday and enjoys this chapter.

Chapter four
“You didn’t think it worth mentioning that Jimmy – crazy fucker – Longview is your boyfriend?” I started driving again. My anger was bubbling in me like a volcano ready to erupt.
“Listen get mad at me later, just take the first left, then turn at the third right and then straight ahead until you hit a little abandoned place.” I was ready to argue with her some more but her voice was full of pain and her hand looked really, really, really bad.
After fifteen minutes I found myself in a dead town…rickety houses made of wood and burned out cars on their backs decorated the land.
“Where are we?” I said aloud, parking behind a small house that Gloria had pointed out.
“Get in my bag; I have a first aid kit.”
I glanced at her hands, which were now both a bright red. I found the small first aid kit almost immediately. Gloria had gotten out of my car too and was now sat leaning against the passenger side door. I cleaned up her hand with a bottle of clear liquid. Gloria hit her head against my car in pain. Throughout the process of me cleaning her hand, she gave out little yelps and bit down on her lip. I felt incredibly bad for her, it must have been very sore. I bandaged it up and then put my hand on her shoulder.
“We’re in a lot of trouble.” I stated simply.
I did not expect her reaction. She leapt up and smacked the side of my car so hard I thought she may have left a dent in it. “No.” She stomped her foot. “I am in trouble. You, you can get out of this. I CAN’T!” Her face flushed red and her eyes glazed over. Biting her lip she looked adamant not to cry. “I did not want you involved in this. I didn’t even want you here!”
Since the first time I’d met her, she actually sounded like a teenager.
I snapped. “Listen, this shit has been a whirlwind, it’s all went very fast but am in this now. Am not letting you do this alone.”
“We don’t even know each other.”
She had a good point. I couldn’t argue against it so instead of speaking, I kicked my car and walked away.
My head was swimming. I had gotten in way too deep, way too fast. In less than forty eight hours, I had a girl who was insane suddenly dominating my thoughts, left home and ended up smack bang in the middle of a gang war.
I found a fallen tree and sat down on it.
“Lost in a ghost town,” I whispered my words into the dark. I was well and truly lost. I looked around me and found that everywhere I looked, I was reminded of Maria. I couldn’t just run away from that part of my past. And then, as if thinking of her name had been a key to a tricky lock, the most painful memories came flooding back to me. The last week of her life seemed to play out in front of me…
Two years ago.
“Maria!” No answer.
I hammered on her bedroom door again. Suddenly her bedroom door flew open and I almost fell forward.
