Chapter 45: When I See You Again..

Laysha's POV:
(Later that day)
I sigh & lean against the countertop of my bathroom
I look at my eyes which are red from crying
Today is the day Mercedez moves to California
I feel tears form again in my eyes
Nate kisses my cheek & wipes them away
"It's gonna be okay.."
This sucks
Who knows when I will see her after she moves?
(At the airport)
All do their stuff has been sent to their new house
Mercedez frowns at me
I tear up & so does she
We hug & start crying
"What's small turn to a friendship..a friendship turn to bond..that bond will never be broken the love will never get lost.."
Andrew hugs me
(Flashback)
(Middle school)
Me & Mercedez became friends the spring before
Now it's fall
We stood up for each other
She was different like me
Which is one of the many reasons I liked her
"Promise we'll be friends forever right? No matter what?" She says
I wrap my finger around hers
"Promise" we hug
Ever since that day I became best friends with Mercedez
(Junior high)
Andrew started having a crush on Mercedez
Though I was the only one who knew
Since we talk 24/7
We never kept secrets
Even if some of the stuff was hurtful
At lease we were being true with each other
(Flashback over)
I cried in his arms
"Andrew I miss you guys already" I say
"I love you" he says & he does something we haven't done since junior high
He rubbed his nose on mines & kisses it
"I'll miss you so much" he whispers with his voice cracking as he says it
I wipe my tears
"Same here big guy" I say patting his back
He walks to the gate
Mercedez hugs me tight
"So..you promise..you'll Skype me as soon as you get home?"
"How about after we unpack?" She says wiping her tears giggling a little
I'm gonna miss this
"Why California? Washington wasn't a good enough place to live?"
I say
"No it was. It's just California seemed good & I'll be starting college soon at UCLA"
She says
"I hope you don't hate me" she adds
"I couldn't ever hate you" I say
She kisses my forehead
"Wow. So.." She drags the last part
"Goodbye?" I say crying a bit
She cries also with me
"It's not goodbye" she says
"It's see you soon" she adds
"Christmas won't be the same without you guys" I say
"We'll see what happens around that time" she says
We hug again
I watch as my best friend walks to the gate & blows me a kiss
& waves
I walk to a glass where I see the plane they are boarding
I sigh & Nate rubs my back
"It's okay" he says as I sniffle in his arms
The plane lifts up & I tear up as I watch the plane carrying my best friend fly away..
"Hold on the memories as you go.."
(At home)
I put Zuhaily down for her nap
I start making dinner when I just burst into tears
Nate notices & runs over to me
"Hey hey I'll cook" he says picking me up & carrying me upstairs
"It's been a long day..without you my friend & I'll tell you all about it when I see you again"
"You relax." He adds putting me on the bed
I whine
"Nate I'm fine-"
"IM COOKING" he yells
I roll my eyes & turn on the tv & cover myself in the sheets
(After dinner)
Luckily Nate was right he can cook
It was delicious the dinner I had
I took a shower afterwards
I'm laying down
When I hear my iPhone ring
"FaceTime call" pops up on my phone
I answer it
It's Mercedez & Andrew
I literally wanted to cry seeing them but I held it in
"Hey" she says
"Hey" I say
"I miss you" they both say
"Same" I say
"We didn't break our promise..btw are you busy for 5 days?"
"When?" I ask
"Late December"
"Obviously not" I say
"Great just wanted to ask"
I raise a eyebrow but shake it off
(A hour later)
We ended our call
Turns out we talked for a hour straight
Nate climbs into bed
"Time to rest babygirl"
He says grabbing my phone out of my hand
"Nate.."
"Yeah?"
"Is it okay to say I miss them?"
"Of course" he says
I cover myself in the sheets
He cuddles me in his arms
"Don't worry we'll see them soon" he says
"Nate your the best" I say
He pecks my lips & turns off the lights,.
I shut my eyes & finally fall asleep...
