Chapter 6

Annie's POV.
I woke up feeling Brennan's breath against my neck. My face was hurting from all the crying I did yesterday. I raise up and go brush my teeth and hair. I come out of the bathroom and go down for breakfast.

Katie is sitting at the counter and Hayley and Ryan are on the trampoline. "They've really hit it off!" I nudged Katie. She gave me a fake smile. "You okay?" I asked. She looked at me, tears begging to get out. "I really did like Caleb, Annie. I just wish he would've told me sooner. I feel so alone. You have Brennan and Ryan has Hayley. I have no one." She threw herself on the couch and cried.

Just then Brennan came down. He ran to Katie. "Katie, Katie? What is it Katie?" He pulled her into a hug. "I'm so alone Brennan!" She screamed. "You have me, Annie, Ryan, and Hayley. You're never alone." She cried harder. "I miss Caleb." She cried. "We all do. We all do." He said with a shaky voice.

"I have an idea!" I jumped trying not to cry as well. "Why don't we go bowling? That'll get our mind off of things. I can invite Liv if you guys want?" "No!" Brennan and Katie yelled in unison. "Liv tried to get with Brennan all summer long last year." Katie snapped. "She tried to get me to kiss her and hold her hand. She's obsessed with me!" Brennan threw his hands in the air and fell on the couch.

"I-I'm sorry. I I didn't k-know." I tried not to cry. I walked away from them. I heard them whisper yelling at each other. Brennan grabbed my wrist. "I'm sorry we snapped at you. We just don't like liv at all." He really was sorry. I could see it in his eyes. "It's okay." I sniffled Brennan kissed my cheek. "Let's go bowl." He smirked.

I texted my mom where we were going. Mom and dad stayed with Mrs.jill and mr.mike last night. We jumped in my car and headed out.

We decided to bowl in teams. Me,Hayley,and Katie against Brennan and Ryan. "I GOT A STRIKE!" Hayley jumped up and down. Ryan ran up and hugged her. "I'm so proud." He whispered. She blushed. Brennan went up to bowl. He brought his arms back and I yelled. "Don't mess up." He snarled at me. "Strike" he smirked at me.

The boys ended up winning by 2 pins. On the way home I saw 5 cars in our driveway. Mom was throwing a grieving party for me. With the coral girls. Liv. Liv would be there. I saw Brennan face drop. "I'm sorry B." He nodded. Trying not to freak out. How did mom not understand I'm fine with Katie, Brennan, Ryan, and Hayley. I didn't need anyone else.

We walked in together. I walked in holding Brennan's arm, squeezing it reassuring he would be okay. "Surprise!!!" Everyone yelled. Mom was vlogging it all. "How was bowling?" She hugged us. "The boys one by 2 pins." Katie said. "You'll get them next time." Mom said nudging her.

I saw Liv run up to Brennan. "Hi Brennan! Oh.. Hi Annie," she was talking to me like I was a baby who lost their toy. "Is Annie okay today? Does Annie need Brennan to walk? Can wittle Annie not walk by herself?" She took Brennan's hand. He pulled his hand away immediately. "I'm sorry." He whispered.

"Let's let's all go downstairs and play remember when!" Arden yelled awkwardly. I really hope no one pulls the "remember when Caleb did this or that" card Brennan knew what I was thinking. "It'll be okay." He squeezed my shoulder.
