His heart felt heavy for the rest of the day. He wanted to badly to go to her. But there were other problems going on, and if he didn't fix these ones, there wouldn't be a team to help save Kitty.

Steve's mind was completely unfocused all day. All he wanted to do was sit in his room.

That's all anyone seemed to want to do.

His thoughts were snapped back however, when he heard a crash coming from the foyer.

He threw his door open and sprinted out. Steve found the room completely upturned, and was confused even more when he found a cloth lying in the middle.

He picked it up and sniffed at it. Chloroform, he thought as his mind swirled from the vapour. Who was taken!?

He noticed the door leading outside swing shut, a masked crew carrying a limp person in their arms.

"Guys! Come out here quick! Someone's been taken!" Steve shouted. He heard the immediate response of the team as they followed behind him, running towards the door.

There were gunshots then. The team dropped to the ground as a grenade was thrown into the room. Steve held up his shield just as the shell exploded.

Debris went everywhere, and he heard a strangled cry from Tony as a piece his him.

Steve looked up. The crew was gone. Steve immediately looked around for a head count. Nat, Clint, Tony, Wanda, Vision, himself, and--

Where was Bucky!?

Steve ran out the door and searched the outside. He saw the truck driving off into the distance. Breathing rapidly, he caught the glint of a metal arm. With a red star.

They had Bucky.

He would have to find him, once he was out of wherever they were taking him.

No matter what.

Bucky found himself feeling drawn out of his room. His mind felt distracted and distant as he walked mindlessly into the Foyer.

That's why he barely had any time to react when he cloth was placed over his mouth and nose, and his vision went black.

He woke in a dark room. Bucky wiggled his wrists and ankles, but found them restrained. "Cap! What's going on!?"

The lights turned on and he squinted his eyes. He then recognised where he was.

The brainwashing room.

From Hydra.

His breaths became panicky as he saw a man walking in to do the job. The man was wearing a mask that shielded his face completely. Bucky, terrified, spat in the man's face.

The man did nothing, only gave Bucky the mouthpiece he had always used and hooked the headpieces around his skull.

He felt tears prick his eyes as the machine shocked at his brain. He let out a strangled cry as it seemed to tear through his mind.

All of his memories about Steve and the last few weeks flashed before him. He smiled internally as he saw them.

Then they disappeared.

Bucky couldn't remember anything.

But that gave him the strength to break the restraints and run from the building into the newly unfamiliar world. He left towards an abandoned looking building. He would stay there for a few days.

He sat down in the corner and cried.

He remembered he had had a friend from a long time ago. He racked his brain trying to remember their name.

He lay there for a few hours, feeling vulnerable and saddened.

He couldn't remember anything.

How many times was this going to happen to him?
