- Eli's bedroom ^ -

Vanessa's point of view

"I'm home." I said and I had a little girl running towards me. "Hi princess." I said and picked her up.

"Hi mama, what's in the bag?" She asked me and I chuckled. "Did you get me anything?"

"I'm sorry baby, I didn't. I will next time though, I just got Eli's medicine." I told her and she pouted as she nodded. "Where's daddy and bubba?"

"They're in Eli's room." She said and grabbed my hand. I nodded and she dragged me to his room.

I opened the door and then saw Calum laying down on his bed, Eli fast asleep on his stomach. I smiled and pulled my phone out, bending down to Dakota's height as she earched me snap a picture. She giggled quietly and Calum shifted.

I immediately hid my phone and Dakota climbed up the later, sitting on the top of his bed so she couldn't be seen. I handed her the bag and then walked underneath the frame.

I picked up Elijah carefully and he shifted in my arms. "Shh, it's okay baby boy." I said and he opened his eyes as I pressed my head against his forehead.

"Mama?" He asked and I nodded. His voice was a bit scratchy and I smiled smally at him. "Where's daddy?"

"He's asleep on your bed bub, if he doesn't wake up, you can sleep in my bed with me." I said and he nodded as he curled up into a ball in my arms. "Don't go back to sleep, you need to take your medicine."

"I don't want medicine!"

"You need to take it!" Dakota said and I nodded. She climbed down the bed frame and I grabbed the bag. "Please Eli?"

"No! I don't want it!" He yelled and I nearly dropped him from how much he was squirming. "Daddy!"

"Elijah, you need your medicine-"

He jumped out of my arms and then ran to Calum, laying down on top of him. "No!" He said and Calum put an arm around him.

"What's going on? Why are you yelling?"

"Elijah doesn't want to take his medicine so he can feel better." Dakota said and I handed her the bag again.

"I don't wanna take it daddy, it's nasty."

"I know baby but you have to if you want to get better." Calum said as he rubbed his back. "You don't wanna see the doctor do you?"

"No daddy."

"Then you have to take the medicine. It's the doctor or its the medicine Eli." He said and Eli threw a fit over it. "Come on, let's take it and then we can go back to sleep."

"I don't want to!"

"Elijah Jaylen Hood," I said, setting my hands on my hips. "You need to take your medicine right now." I told him sternly and Calum agreed.

Calum stood up and I laughed when his head hit the roof of the bed frame. "Come on." He said in pain and carried Elijah out of bed.

Elijah whined and cried over not wanting to and I asked Dakota to throw the bag away as I shook the bottle of Tylenol.

I set the box down on the kitchen counter and Dakota grabbed a Capri-Sun for after he takes the medicine. I thanked her and Calum watched as I poured the right amount.

"Here you go." I said and Elijah refused to open his mouth. "All you have to do is take it quickly and then I'll give you your juice after. Elijah, stop bring difficult." I said and Calum tickled his sides.
