chapter 9

The morning sunlight comes pouring in and frys my eyelids open the next morning. I reach trying to find Serria, but she is no longer in the bed. I sit up and look around the room. The bedroom door is slightly open and I can now hear soft voices from down stairs.

I pull on a shirt and a pair of shorts. Then I step out into the hallway. Being careful not to make too much noise so I can hug Serria from behind.

"She has to go!" I hear Andrew's alpha voice echo out from the living room.

"Where she goes I go, brother." Serria's voice is full of stubbornness.

"No, you will not you have a duty to your pack here."

"We have marked one another and completed the matting process. If we were to break it off now then it will most likely kill us. You know that, Drew."

"I will not have a illegitimate wolf in my packs lands. Either she leaves or she will be put in prison."

"She will do neither. She is my mate and I have been beta of this pack longer than you have been alpha, Drew."

I step out of the ball to see Serria's back facing me, but Andrew is facing me. His eyes flicker to me and a smile forms on his face. "Oh, look who finally got up, and such perfect timing too. I want you gone by the end of the month. You should be healed enough by then to travel."

Serria turns around, "Don't worry baby. He is only one vote. We will be putting this issue to a vote tonight. Goodbye, Drew."

He and Serria stear at each other until finally he nods his head and leaves.

Serria colapes on the couch and covers her face with her hand.

"What is it, my love?"

"I just thought he would be happy from me when I found my mate but that doesn't seem to be true. He seems mad at me for marking you as my mate."

I touch her cheek softly. She sighs and leans her head into my touch. "He is just trying to be protective. He loves you and he doesn't want to see his sister get hurt."

She sighs, "That and he talked the alpha of the pack that took yours over last night night over the phone. He basicly called you a liar. He told Drew that you ran away and that the silver knife wound is self inflicked."

"Do you believe him?" I ask hoping that she doesn't.

She stands up and touches my face. Serria study's my face for a couple of second before pulling me in for a hug. "Not in the slightests, but Drew has covinced the council otherwise. These are the same people that tried to strip me on my rank a few years ago."

I nuzzle her neck before kissing our mark. She lets out a soft moan. "When is my trial?"

"In a couple of hours." She says still not competely there as I continue to kiss and nip her mark.

I smile, "Good." I lead her back to our room. Where we then make love until it is time to get ready for my trial.
