"Kate O'Neal, stand up." The jury of seven wolves from the pack commands in unison.
"You are here today to stand trial of trespassing in another pack's teritorry. How do you plead?"
"Guilty as charged, but I was only planning on passing through. If I had come to the Alpha I would have been killed by the rouges that were following me."
"Then why are you still here?"
"I have found my mate in your pack." I glace over my shoulder to Serria standing on the back of the room with her brother.
"Ahh, yes, she made the anoucment about this last night. Beta Serria please come forward."
Serria walks up and stands next to me and takes my hand.
"Now can you please show us your mating mark?"
I moved my hair to show them the mark in my neck just as she does the same. The marks have now completely heal. But unlike most marks it is not a mark that shows only one packs crest. Instead it is a combo of both of ours.
The crescent moon with trible markings, representing my pack, throughout it with a star in the middle, representing hers.
The jury talks among themselves. Before they ask they say, "Will the alpha of her previous pack come forward?"
My body freezes as my blood turns to ice in my veins. The doors open and out comes the very same Alpha that left me for dead so many nights ago.
"Tell us, why she left your pack." The jury demanded.
"I'm not really sure. I had oftered for her to marry my son thus murging the packs but she turned me down. Then ran away from home."
I growled softly to myself trying not to yell liar like I want to so badly. Serria rubs her thumb against the back of my hand to calm me down.
"Is this true?" The jury asks.
"No, he attacked my pack one night and killed my whole family right in front of me. The only reason why I survived was because I could get the knife out of my stomach." I lift my shirt to show them the healling wound created by the knife.
"You cannot prove that was made by my knife!"
"Be quite, Alpha Conner. Alpha Andrew can you please provide us with the truth?" The jury asks.
Andrew walks up from the back. He stands in front of me, "This will not hurt. As long as you keep your mind open to me."
This morning, Serria told me that unlike some alpha's he can do more than hear what is currently present in his packmate's mind. By touching the temples on my face he is able to see anything he wants to see.
Andrew holds my face in his hands as I force myself to open up my mind to him. I can feel him dig in my mind as he looks for that one memory. Once he does he grabs it with all his power so it does not slip away.
As he looks at this memory I can see it too. I can feel everything I had felt back then. The physical pain is one thing but the emothional pain is another. I can feel the tears filling down my cheeks by the time it finally comes to the end.
Andrew looks at me with tears in his eyes. I've never seen him look at me like this before. His eyes are full of pity. He touches my cheek in a soft comforting way. "I am so sorry."
"Well? Is she telling us the truth or isn't she." The jury asks reather impatiently.
Andrew faces the jury and announces, "She is telling the truth. Although he did win a fight with their current alpha, but seeing as he was not able to kill her I'd say she has a right to fight for her position back. "
"Back? What do you mean by this?"
Andrew looks to me to explain. "My father made my brothers and I fight for the alpha position instead of just my oldest brother being his hier. Even though I am the second oldest I was able to beat both of my brothers. But when I came out as lesbian my father and the Council took my title and gave it to my older brother, Zac, who was second in line."
The jury askes their final questions which takes about a hour in total. Before they dismiss us telling us that they will come to a dission within a couple of days.
