Chapter 13
Marshmallows

Hermione sat with her head in her hands as she let the steam from her soup hit her in the face. The seventh years seemed like the only ones having a hard time the morning after the ball. Well all of them except for Ginny, she seemed fine.

Harry was baffled at the fact that someone can consume so much alcohol and wake up fine the next day.

"You'd think by this time, they would've created a serum or something for hangovers." Hermione groaned into her hands. "Forget that, I'm just waiting for Draco, I want him to see the article himself rather than hear from someone else."

"Ginny, put the paper away, he's coming. Let him have breakfast first." Harry whispered at Hermione. His voice barely audible over the chatter of the rest of the school.

"Why the fuck is the rest of the school so loud?" Draco was grumpy as he sat down next to Luna, who passed him the bread.

"Drink up the soup, you'll need it." She said tenderly to him. He honestly looked like crap.

That is when Seamus asked a very important question. "Do we drink soup or eat soup."

"You drink it up obviously." Dean interjected, his voice was low.

"Yeah but isn't it considered eating when you use a spoon to eat it from a bowl, and drinking when you drink it from a cup?" The small group went silent, Seamus seemed oblivious to how mad Dean seemed. This was obviously about something more than just some soup.

That is when Dean took out the spoon from his bowl, slammed it on the table, and took out a huge chug from the bowl. The bowl was still at his lips when he raised one of his middle fingers. The bowl was empty in seconds, but the negativity lingered in the air.

Dean's little stunt seemed to finally shut Seamus up.

"I was just wondering." He muttered before shoving a spoonful into his mouth.

Throughout the incident, Ginny didn't notice the newspapers slipping from her lap. Draco was seated to her left, so he leaned down to pick it up for her. However, he sat there half-bent, with his eyes glued to the front page.

Momentarily, Ginny noticed what was unraveling beside her and reached for it, but Draco snatched it first.

"There's honestly no need to hide it, I really don't care that much." He said without taking his eyes off of it.

"Honestly, no one even believes the dung she writes anymore. I doubt anyone reads that paper anymore." Ron assured him.

"We do." Ginny corrected him smiling at Harry.

Harry nodded his head.

"Yes, we read it for entertainment. You should see the rumors in there about us. Obviously, last month I cheated on Ginny with Ron."

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry threw the previous night a masquerade party. It was enchanting to witness firsthand the drastic changes taking place at the school after the war.

"This is honestly not too bad so far." Draco looked up at them for a second.

Not only there exists a more accepting environment, but the students seem to have given up the old traditions. Word has it that the meals are no longer only shared by the houses in the great hall, but the students are now free to share tables.
