"Fly Me To The Moon"
Chapter 23:
Destiny"Draco!" Hermione breathed when he took his hands off of her eyes. "Where are we, we've already skipped three days of school at the hospital."
Draco knew her concerns were eating her up, but he took the excitement in her voice as a green sign.
"Well," he grabbed her waist from the front and pulled her closer. "We are at a small villa I've rented for the weekend."
"Malfoy, have you gone insane?" She chuckled nervously.
"I know you're stressed about school, but honestly what you went through was not easy. We haven't had a moment to ourselves in forever. Everyone has been all over the place. I think we need some time alone to process everything, we need this." He pecked her on the lips.
"Besides I have this badass date planned, it would kill me if you miss it."
"Just for the weekend?" Hermione questioned with raised eyebrows.
"Well, I was thinking maybe we could pay your parents a visit later this week. Then, we go back to school. I promise."
"Since when does the school allow you to run your own schedule?"
"Let's just say Professor McGonagall wants us to make sure we're both physically and mentally prepared to go back." He shrugged his shoulders before resting his forehead against hers. "So if you think about it, all I'm doing is following orders."
"And who's going to take care of our chores? Our job is important."
"We're head girl and head boy, Granger. We're not going to save the world." He rolled his eyes then smirked. "You've already done that. Now can we please get in there, I'm too excited to just stand out here."
What Hermione didn't know was that Draco was going to extreme measures to make her smile. He needed her to be happy, even if it was just for a moment. He knew that nothing he could do right now would change anything about the shock she'd went through- but with everything that's went down, he couldn't help feeling that they needed to live each day till its maximum. Being in the dark about the future excited him, but also low-key terrified him.
There were a few things he needed to do, and school was not about to get in way of that.
The moment he led her into their bedroom, she noticed the red floor-length dress he had laid out for her on their bed.
"Isn't it too fancy for a date? Fits more for a wedding." She held up the gown to admire it. Hermione thought it was beautiful but she couldn't help feeling that Draco had been spending a lot on her. This was never the relationship she had in mind.
Relationships are two-way streets. If he takes care of her, then he should expect nothing less from her side. This only meant that the next date would be on her.
"You can wear it to a wedding again. That's fine."
"Why, you asking me to be your date to a wedding?" Hermione laughed as she started unbuttoning her shirt to try on the dress.
"Sort of." he smiled at her from behind. "But we'll get to that"
Then suddenly Hermione stopped undressing and went pale. "Umm Draco? Can you please give me some space to get ready?"
