Benji POV (day of the operation)

My stomach fills with butterflies as I sit in the surgery room.
" who do you think the donner is I ask Derek" nervously
"I don't know but who ever is is, is we ow them a hell of a lot for saving Ashley." Derek replied and his grip on Katie hand tightened.
"It has been nearly four hours. I am starving who wants food I am going to poo to the shops" Sarah say casually whiles standing up.
"Sarah stop being so heartless sit down and wait til they have finished the operation before you go and get food"

At that moment the door opened and Dr George came in.
"The operation was a success you will be able to go in and visit Ashley in the morning. For know we recommend that he should be left alone to rest. We will carry on with the chemotherapy since its started to clear away the cancer" Dr George smile and leaves the waiting area.

" I know who benefited from this happening" I say angrily
"Who" Sarah says in confusion
"Jack! Because this happened we had to delay the court hearing until sixe weeks time" I say anoyance slipping into my voice
"Why are you so annoyed atleats they didn't drop the case" Sarah say an smacks the back of my head as we make our way towards the entrance.

I get into my car as soon as I close the door and start the engin. Someone taps on my window I quickly role down the window and see Katie
"How are you holding up sweetie?" Kaite asks kindly
"I am fine thanks" I reply with a kind smile
"If you get to lonely in that house on your own you can stay at the house with us until Ashley gets better. I want you to start answer the phone me OK because I get worried about you being all alone. You put on a brave face as if it dosnt affect you but it does I know it does. I have seen whats on your wrists Benjamin Kyle Hughes Ashley may not have realised and believes you well played act." Katie says in a shaky voice.

I pull my sleeves down further over my hands and I feel my face become paler. "I,I can't help it. It helps me forget everything temporarily. I want him locked up. I want him gone so I can walk around without being afraid he is going to show up and attack me. But he isn't locked up he's walking around without a care in the world whiles I am a m,mess a dirty disgusting mess who,who..." I got cut off by the door being opened and Katie pulling me into a hug.

"Ben you didn't deserve any of it so don't you dare say you did. I don't want to hear you say it again. I have told you once and I will tell you a million times over if I have to. What you did to Ashley cheating on him with that girl was wrong, but you didn't deserve what Jack did to you and it wasn't cheating what he did to you so stop feeling guilty. I we all want you to come home so you don't have to be alone." Katie asked me sternly.

"No it OK I have work to do for college" I say and look down at my fidgeting hands
"Benjamin please stop it stop pushing us away we want you to be with us so we can support you and help you. We won't see you as weak if you did take our help. Benji please just come home" katie says desperately and takes one of my hand in hers.

"I don't want to. I would rather be alone to concentrate on my work" I pull my hand from her grasp. Katie backs away after kissing my forehead and then she closes the door.

I drive away and I put on my brightest smile as I wave at them all goodbye.
