Part 35

The day of the trial

Benji and I put on our best suites and quickly make our way towards the magistrates court building.

I tighten my hold on Benji hand as we make our way up the stairs.

We get inside and see two separate rows of chairs on one side there is all of our friends and relatives including Benji's parents. On the other there is Jacks friends and relatives who glare at us as we make our way towards the front of the court room.

I sit down slowly behind Benji as he sits at a desk beside his lawyer and Jack's ex girlfriend Nia; who begins to whisper in Benji ear and Benji replies with a nod.

And then the it begins with some of Jacks neighbours who claim they heard what happened to Ben but they didn't suspect it was rape.

And then Nia stands up in then stands up into the witness booth.
She places her hand on to a Bible
"I swear to tell the howl truth and nothing bit the truth so help me God" Nia says loudly
"Please tell us Nia Elisabeth Nowell. What was you relationship like with Jack Sydney Walters" the judge says loudly whiles looking towards Nia.

"At the beginning he was the typical cheese boyfriend who would buy me flowers and take me on dates we always had little play fights. But after a year he started to become to violent and he would hurt me baddly" she handed the judge a picture he looked at it and placed it on to his desk.
"He would beat me until I became on the verdge of fainting then he would seduce me even if I protested" Nia eyes filled with tears and that slowly dripped down her face.
"I dumped him after the first t,time he,he did it to me. I tired to leave but he put something onto a cloth which put me to sleep and when I woke up I was handcuffed to the bed and I couldn't move. "Nia began to cry even harder. Nia took a deep breath and wiped her eyes "I,I was there for which seemed forever but turned out only a week and every night he came home he would use for his own sick pleasure and then in the morning he would leave and say good bye darling and if I didn't say bye back he would hurt me
" Nia met Jack gaze. I looked over to Jack and saugh a wicked grin on his face as if he's enjoying himself.

Nia cringed "that is all I have to say sir" she looked up at the judge who signaled for her to go.

After four hours of witnesses and defendants had their say we were slowed to go on a break for two hours and were told to come back after that and we would be told the verdict. On whether Jack is guilty or not.

Benji POV

We get back two hours later and sit in our usual places. Nia clutches onto my hand tightly as we wait for the results

The judge banks the hammer loudly against his desk which causes me and Nia to flinch.

"We have finally made a verdict the defendant has been found guilty of fiscal towards both victims Benjamin Hughes and Nia Nollan and he will serve one years imprisonment ... And he has been found guilty for sexual abuse towards Benjamin Hughes and shall be charged 40 years imprisonment. As for the charges of sexual abuse against Nia Nollan he has been found innocent due to lack of evidence... Jack Walters has also been fined £2,900 for property damage for a broken window"

Guards quickly handcuff Jack and start to escort and drag him from the court room
"THIS IS THE THANKS I GET. I SAVED YOU ASHLEY!!! REMBER YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE A PICE OF ME INSIDE OF YOU ASHley" Jack screams as he leaves the court room.
