This is Dying (BXB) (Book2)

part 36

I left the court room; as soon as we were out side; Nia dived on me crying.
"Everyone is going think I lied now aren't they" Nia cries and burries her face in my chest .
"No they won't think you lied" I say soothingly; Ash awkwardly strokes Nias back with a look of confusion and worry on his face.

"What's wrong Ashley"  I ask in concern.
"All along Jack was my donner" Ash says in a quiet voice that I could barely hear him; I stroke Nias brown short hair from her face as I nudge her of me. "Are you going to be OK" I ask her gently and stroke tears from her cheeks.

"I will be fine I have to get back to my dad anyway." Her voice breaks a little as she speaks
"You can stay with me and Ash for a while if you want. We do have a spare room"I say with a knid smile.

"No its OK" Nia wipes the tears from her eyes and puts on a fake smile. "I will be fine bye guys" she quickly turns away from is and jogs away  and hurries into the passenger side of a car that speeds down the street in a rush.

For some reason a heavy feeling of dread and fear build in my chest telling me I should not leave Nia on her own and that's she's a danger.

The feeling gets worse when I get home. I lay in bed starring blankly at the celing
"What's wrong Benji? you have been odd since Nia turned and made her way home" Ash asks flatly.

"It just I have a bad feeling about Nia being left alone do you know what I mean?." I say quitely
"Yeah I know what you mean. When you were alone you did all of this to your self to get the pain away" Ash kisses my wrist gently and strokes his thump over my scars.
"And your scared that Nia will go home and do the same because she feels she lost her friends and no one believes her. Also go and phone show her tell that you care and that she has a friend; that's what she needs right know a friend."

Ash pecks my lips as he leans over me and grabs the phone from the side cupboard;he clicks a few buttons and then hands me the phone. "Hello"  a male voice says gruffly
"Hello is Nia home" I ask politely
"Yes the liar is home. Who is this another one of her victims what has she s lied about know"
"No she hasn't lied anything why would she lie about something like that... I, I just want to speak to her please" I try but fail to keep my tone of voice polite.
"No" He says angrily.

I hear Nia in the background pleading "dad please can I have my phone" the sound become muffled "no go back to our room you lyeing whore" the sound becomes normal again
"Sorry Nia is sleeping good bye" he cuts off before I can say anything.

"O my god Ash we need to get her out of that house. Her dad is a prick" I say sternly.

"She won't be able to move in with us permanently because she is 17 she would need her dads permission" Ashley says sadly
"What happened to her mam" I say sadly and look over to Ashley
"She died with cancer. I know that because we shared a room for a couple of months" Ash says sadly
"Ow"  that was the first thing that came to my mind.
