A knock on the door awoke Alex from her sleep. She opened her eyes to see her mother standing in front of her. She shakily sat down on the bed.
"Alex.." She whispered.
Alex didn't reply, she just sat up in her bed.
"Harry...he's in the hospital." She croaked.
Alex eyes went wide, heart best rising. "W-what?" She choked.
"He..he was found unconscious in his apartment.."
"When? When did this happen?"
"I don't, I don't know. Just they called here this morning." Her mothers breath was shaky.
"Who did?!" Alex yelled.
"The hospital. They called-"
"I need to go. I need to.." Alex breathed, quickly getting out of her bed.
"Sweetie, no one can see him. He's in such bad condition."
Alex heart sunk. Tears slipped down her cheeks. She was speechless.
"I'm sorry.." Her mother croaked.
Alex repeatedly shook her head, falling back against her wall. Her heart was beating rapidly, her breathing was heavy. She felt broken. She covered her face, as her mom bent down in front of her.
"Alex..he'll be ok. He will."
"No! You don't know!" Alex's body started started to shake. "You don't understand! He's..he's.."
Her fell shut, and her skin turned white.
"Alex? Alex, sweetie?" Her mom called out. "Alex?!"
Alex didn't say anything. Her body was numb.
"Carter call 911!"
----
Harry's body lay limp in the white hospital bed. His skin was whiter than usual. Dark circles fell under his eyes. Bandages covered his hands from the cuts of glass.
His once pink lips were now an almost light purple. A tube ran down his throat, injecting a liquid to help his body recover from the alcohol poisoning.
But none of this pain hurt more than his broken heart did. Harry was numb from the pain of the alcohol poisoning but the pain of his heart was still there. The guilt was eating him alive, but Alex would never know.
