That night Harry had gotten Alex to dress in the prom dress she never gotten to wear. He waited anxiously at the bottom of her staircase, waiting to see the beautiful girl with his own eyes. Her mother stood beside Harry, waiting as well.
Minutes passed and soon enough Alex slowly walked down the staircase. The beautiful white dress fit her body perfectly. The shining accents all matching with her jewelry. Long, brown, golden locks cascaded down her front, only to reveal her left shoulder.
Alex was stunning.
Harry's grew in size as he watched Alex walk down the steps, taking each one with caution. His heart thumped against his chest. He truly loved her.
"You're so beautiful." He smiled, entwining their hands.
"Thank you." Alex replied, showing off her best smile.
"Alex, sweetie. You are beyond beautiful." Her mother spoke, taking her daughter into her arms.
"Thank you. I love you, mom. Thank you for everything." Alex whispered, running her hand up her mothers back.
"I love you too." She pulled away, holding her at arms length. "You're the greatest daughter a mother could ask for."
Alex walked back into Harrys arms. He was dressed plain in a simple white shirt and black jeans.
"Harry what are we going to do tonight?" Alex questioned, running circles over his knuckles.
"Surprise." He whispered into her ear.
Alex giggled as he kissed the spot below her ear. "Harry!" She screeched as he did it again.
"Let's go." Harry spoke, taking Alex's hand in his.
The two walked towards the door web Harry turned to her mother. "I'll take care of her. Don't worry." He smiled.
"I trust you. Have fun."
---
"Where are we going?" Alex questioned, trying to take in the surroundings outside the car window. The night was pitch black, the sky revealing a few stars. The moon sparkled in her blue eyes.
"Secret." He replied, squeezing Alex's hand in her lap.
Ten minutes later the car had stopped. Harry had gotten out and walked to Alex's side of the car. He helped her get out, then grabbed her hand in his, walking her towards the secret location.
"Alex, you seriously look so beautiful tonight."
Alex blushed, "thank you. You look handsome yourself."
After slowly walking down a wooden path the two stopped in front of a small pond, lit with tons of small candles. The small dock glowed with yellow as a smile CD player played a quiet piano piece.
"Harry.. This is.."
Harry wrapped his arms around Alex, pressing a quick kiss to her temple. "This is for the prom you never got." He spoke, gently swaying back and fourth. "For the most beautiful girl who I've laid eyes on. The most trusting girl ever in my life. For the beautiful girl who put up with all of my shit, and always stayed by my side. Alex, I love you."
Their lips pressed together.
Harry pulled away, taking a small red box out of his pocket.
"Harry.. I.."
He smiled, opening the small box to reveal a small infinity ring.
"Alex this is a promise ring. The promise being to always be there for each other. To always have each others backs, through thick and thin. To always love each other all throughout life, no matter what obstacles are put in our way. Alex, I love you tons. More than I've ever loved anything ever in my life. You complete me. You're my missing puzzle piece. I know I threaten your future. I know that, but I want to make the best of myself, that bettering being you. I love it when you giggle at the most simplest of things. How your nose crinkles when you concentrate. How you let me hold you in your weakest state. That night when you came over to my house, laying in my arms, telling me about your past, that's when I realized I loved you. And I always have, so please Alex take this promise to always stay with me through thick and thin? Through all the shit I put you through.. Through everything?"
Harry's eyes became glossy, salon with Alex. She was taken back at his words. Each and everyone held so much emotion. She loved Harry with all her heart, but could she commit to this?
"Harry that was the most beautiful thing anyone has ever said to me..." She spoke, trying to hold back tears. "But, I..." She trailed off.
