It was finally Friday and I decided to not go to the basketball game tonight. I'd much rather stay home, away from the hot, sweaty gym. Before I went up to my bedroom I decided to go into the kitchen and ask my mom what was for dinner because I was starving. As I walked down the hallway and made my way to the door I stopped before opening it. My mom was talking to someone on the phone and I tried to listen but I couldn't make out the words. Instead of just waiting there, I silently opened up the door and crept in.

"And if you really want to sweep her off her feet buy her some pink and red roses!" She exclaimed. I accidentally let the door slam behind me and my mom quickly turned around and shot me a glare.

"I have to go. BYE!" She rapidly said into the phone and then slammed it down onto the counter. Her cheeks flushed with a rosy-red color and she faked a smile at me.

"Alex! W-What are you doing home?" She questioned and walked closer to me.

"I decided not to go -- who were you talking to on the phone?" I quickly changed the subject.

"Um, It was just someone from the office." She hesitated.

Did she think I was stupid? It obviously wasn't someone from the office. I could tell she was lying just by the way she nervously played with her fingers and messed with her hair. It was something about me and when she said something about my favorite flowers, pink and red roses, I knew something was up.

"Ok. Whatever." I turned away from her and carried my way back towards the door. "By the way whats for dinner?" I questioned as I opened up the door.

"I don't know yet."

I shrugged my shoulders and walked out of the kitchen and back up the hall to the steps. As I made it to the steps Carter came in the front door, slamming it shut. I waved at him and he just gave me a disgusting look. Something was bothering him.

"Carter is everything ok?" I questioned and walked over to him as he threw down his keys.

"Alex leave me alone." He sternly said.

I grabbed his wrist and he turned to me, his eyes piercing into mine. "Somethings bothering you."

"God just leave me alone!" He yelled and punched his hand into the wall. "You're worse than a fucking two year old!"

Immediately I felt anger pulse through my body. I released my hand from his wrist and backed away from him. "I'm trying to help you!" I yelled and then ran back to the steps. Quickly, I ran my way up to the top of the steps and the sound of my mom's voice stopped me. I paused and started to slowly make my way back down. I could not make out the words as her voice seemed be shouted at Carter. I stopped just one-fourth of the way down and I could perfectly see the two. Within just seconds my mom had slammed the front door shut in Carter's face. Before I could think of what had been going on she covered her face and walked back down the hall. She was out of sight.

I decided not to go see what had just happened between them. Instead I went back into my room, avoiding the conflict. My feet padded against the carpet to the edge of my bed right when my phone started to ring. I walked over to my night stand and picked my phone up. At  a glance I could tell it was Harry, just by the picture that flashed on the screen.

"Hello?" My voice filled with annoyance.

 "Hello gorgeous."

I grabbed my laptop and sat down on my bed. "What do you want?"

"You." He laughed and my eyes rolled in annoyance. "Um, you up to anything at the moment?"

"I'm not. Why?" I questioned and pushed the power button.

"Do you want to go see a movie with me?"

"I wasn't really on planning going anywhere toni-" He cut me off.

"I'll come to you!" He cheered.

I put my phone between my shoulder and my cheek as I typed in my password. "I-I guess but tonight I was just planning on-" The phone slipped from my shoulder and crashed onto the keyboard. I quickly grabbed it and held it back up to my ear.

"Are you ok?" He asked with concern.

"Yeah, I just dropped my phone." I spoke and pulled a strand of hair away from my face.

"So is that a yes or no?"

I sighed and opened up Google Chrome. I really didn't feel like seeing anyone tonight. I just had plans for some "me time" because lately I haven't gotten any. Plus, I wasn't really in the mood to see another episode between Carter and Harry.

"I-I guess."

"Are you sure it's ok?" He questioned. He must of noticed I was getting annoyed.

"Its just that Carter..." I trailed off.

"Alex, what does your brother have to do with us?"

"When you were here last time you guys started to argue and I just. I'm not in the mood to see it again." My voice filled with anger.

"Alex I'm just trying to make this work but you keep pushing me away!" He yelled at me.

"There's no need to yell. But I'm not trying to push you away. It's just that when you were here last I could tell by the look in your eyes that you wanted to beat the shit out of him." I gripped my phone tighter.

"Maybe if he didn't act like a dick to me that wouldn't of happened! It wasn't even my fault, it was all his!"

"Don't fucking blame this all on my brother! It was both of your guys' fault!" I clicked the end button on my phone and threw it down on my bed. Then I grabbed one of my pillows and threw it as hard as I could across my room. "God!" I yelled.

I slammed my laptop shut and placed it on my night stand. I then buried myself into my blankets and covered my face. Tears escaped my eyes and by this moment I figured that Harry and I could never work out. We were two totally different people who barely even knew each other and I flat out didn't have the time to deal with having a boyfriend hanging on me. I grabbed my headphones and plugged them into my phone then turned on my music. I just zoned out from the real world and into my own.

I was awken by the sound of somene knocking on my door. I quickly rustled out of the warm sheets and carried my over. "Who is it?" I asked.

"Your mother."

My hand clenched the door knob and pulled it open. I tossed my hand through my hair as my mom gave me a confused look.

"What?" I huffed.

"Why are your cheeks beat red?" She questioned, stepping into my room.

I rubbed my hand on my cheek. It was damp from the tears of the episode that had happened between Harry and I. "Oh, it's nothing."

"Alex. I know when my daughter has been crying. What happened?" Her voice was stern. Almost felt like it was cutting straight through my skin. It felt like her eyes were burning into my skin. "Does it got something to do with Harry?"

I didn't find the words to reply. How did she even know it had something to do with Harry?
