I had lost sight of Emily and Kaitlyn throughout the swarm of people crammed in this little house. The taste of alcohol rushed through my body. It was starting to get very hot throughout the place, causing me to feel sick to my stomach. I sat down on an old, dirty couch in the corner and pulled out my phone checking what time it was. 2:07 a.m. I figured that I'd just leave and catch up with Emily or Kaitlyn in the morning, at school. I just left my cup on the table and headed towards the door. Before I made my exit I looked around and scanned the room for any sight of my friends but they were no where. As I walked out a pair of headlights shined bright into my eyes just like a camera flash. My feet pressed against gravel and I quickly walked from out in front of the car. A warm hand suddenly grabbed my wrist. I jumped and turned around to a tall male who had green eyes and what looked like curly hair. My eyes were still readjusting to the darkness.
"Do you need a lift?" He said with a low husky voice.
I nodded my head no and pulled my arm from out of his grip and carried on walking down the sidewalk and crossed the road out in front of the house. The headlights disappeared from behind me. There was no stars in sight and you could barely see the moon from the thick, heavy clouds. I stopped at the cross walk when I felt rain drops fall down onto my head.
"Great." I mumbled to myself. My clothes were getting soaked along with my hair sticking to my face. Then I heard a car coming down the road from the sounds of tires splashing in the water. The car then stopped at the stop sign where I waited to cross the road. For a few seconds the car didn't budge, then I heard the window roll down.
"Do you want a lift now?" His voice seemed similar. I didn't make any eye contact to the driver as I guessed it was the same guy who asked me earlier.
"How many times do I gotta say it? No." I sternly said and I glanced back to the guy in the black car. Water was streaming down my face and I wiped the droplets away. "Well, you never did say no before gorgeous." I could just feel a smile on his face.
I looked left and right for cars and I ran across the road, running down the sidewalk away from the car, which in any case, it is impossible to outrun a car. Water was splashing all around me and soaked my shoes. I stopped to catch my breath in front of the Main Street Cafe. The rain was coming down more than it had before. A shiver rattled through my body as I was starting to get cold -- my shoes and socks were soaked. I was miserable but I kept telling myself not to get in the car with the boy. Another car pull up beside me, slowing down, and headlights shined bright in front of me. I thought maybe I had gotten away from the same guy but I was wrong. I heard his window roll down.
"Come on, its pouring and you need a lift. Get in." I again shook my head no hoping he'd just pull away and forget about it. I began to walk, again, down the street and he had kept up his pace slowly driving to the left of me. Another stop sign shined in the rain as the headlights glared on it. "Look, just let me take you home and put you out of your misery. You're soaked." I turned around to the curly headed boy who's body reached across the car into the passenger seat. I sighed and walk over to the car. "Fine. But I won't hesitate to call the cops."
He chuckled, unlocking the car door and opened it for me from inside. Water gushed through my jeans as I placed myself in the seat. I felt bad for sitting on his leather seats completely drenched but on the other hand I can't believe I gotten into a strangers car. His green eyes scanned over my body, glancing down to my chest and back up when a grin lurked onto his face. I realized that my white shirt had been practically see through. I smacked him on the shoulder. "Stop it!" He lightly chuckled at me. I leaned back to grab my seat belt and pulled it around me buckling it in. He glanced back over at me, placing his hand on my thigh, lightly squeezing.
"So, gorgeous, where we headed?" he winked.
I smacked his hand off me. "Can you not? I just want to get the hell home."
