Kagami x Reader

Reader POV

"Taiga your grades are crap. Just like when we were kids." I said as I handed his test papers over to him. He sighed and said," Well I need to use my time to practice for the upcoming games in the Winter Cup!" I shooked my head and said," Yeah but you won't be able to play with these grades!" He bounced the basketball in his hand and tossed his test papers back onto the bench with the rest of his stuff. " I know but the game-" He was cut off when Riko threw a basketball at his head and said," Kagami-kun! If you do not at least get a passing grade on your next tests, then you won't be able to play in games anymore! That is why I am going to have (Y/N)-chan help you, okay?" I face palmed and looked at Riko and said," Senpai-" She hugged me and said," Thanks (Y/N)! You're the best!" She then turned to Kagami and said," Kagami-kun I am only going to say this once. Screw up and you're dead got it?" He vigorously nodded his head and Riko smiled and said," Alright! Now let's start!" I watch as Taiga ran over with the others to start practice. He hasn't change much has he?

Kagami POV

(Y/N) has been friends with me since grade school. We met in America and we ended up moving at the same time and living next to each other. We have been friends ever since, but then things started to change. Around junior high I started to have feelings for her and I didn't know how to go about it. I couldn't face her without getting really red,and I would easily embarrass myself. I still feel the same and act the same but I can't help it. She was always there for me and she would always help me no matter how bad the situation was. I can't bring myself to confess to her since I didn't know if she felt the same, and if she didn't then I would have ruined what we already have. I was talking to (Y/N) about grades when Riko suddenly threw a basketball to my head and said," Kagami-kun! If you do not at least get a passing grade on your next tests, then you won't be able to play in games anymore! That is why I am going to have (Y/N)-chan help you, okay?" (Y/N) agreed to do it and I was thankful that Riko did that, but sometimes I wished she didn't find out.

~ Flashback to a week ago ~

I was in the gym practicing alone when I suddenly heard a voice say,"Kagami-kun do you like (L/N)?" I turn to see Kuroko staring right at me. I stumbled a few steps back and screamed, "KUROKO! DON'T SNEAK UP ON ME LIKE THAT!" As usual he kept his poker face and said," Kagami-kun, you like (L/N) don't you?" I felt my cheeks heat up as I tried to cover them and said," H-How did y-you know?!" He looked at me and said," Kagami-kun if anything you make it obvious. You always stare at her during class and you stutter when you talk to her." I slap my forehead as I thought how stupid I made it that obvious. Before I thought it couldn't get any worse Riko came along and said," Oh Kagami-kun you like (Y/N)-chan!" I turned to see Riko right behind me. I sigh and said," C-can you please not t-tell her. I-I don't know if s-she likes m-me like that." She laughs and pats me on the back and said," Okay! But you might want to start putting some moves on her because I heard some guys talking about asking her out." I nodded but I didn't know what to do. "Riko senpai I don't know what to do." She tapped her chin and then said," Just be normal and she will come to you if she likes you. Other than that I will make sure to get an opportunity with her for you!"

~ Flashback ended ~

Reader POV

After practice I went outside to wait for Kagami so we could walk home. We always walked home together because I lived in the apartment next to his. I looked up to the sky to see the clouds gather above. I felt a shiver down my spine as I watched them clumped together. In all honest I am afraid of lightning and thunder in the dark. It scares me so much I cry. Before I could check the weather Kagami and Kuroko came out. I got up and waited for them to come over. Once they reached me Kuroko said," Sorry Kagami-san, (L/N)-san I have to be somewhere." We waved him goodbye and he walked off. We started our walk and I said," Taiga we should start today since your training ended earlier today." He looked on his phone and said," Yeah we can start today, we can do it at my place." I nodded my head in agreement and he said," The sky looks darker tonight huh?" I nodded my head again not saying a word. I felt so uneasy but Taiga moved a bit closer to me which calmed me down a bit. When we finally got into his place I walked over to the small coffe table and set my things down, and pulled out some notes for the upcoming tests. I set them down and then Taiga said," Hey (Y/N) do you want something to drink?" I then called back to him and said," Yeah could I just have some (F/D)?" He took out two glasses and filled them with (F/D) and brought it back to the table. Once I set everything up we started our lesson.

Kagami POV

While we were walking (Y/N) seemed uneasy but I decided it was best not to say anything. So I scooted a bit closer and walk closer to her. She relaxed a bit but was still tense. When we reached my place I poured some drinks and set them down on the table. Once we had everything together we started the lesson. At first it was hard but with some explaining and work I did understand it a bit better. All of a sudden our phones went off. We both took our phones out and checked them. On the text it said

Warning: There is a huge typhoon near your area please take shelter until further notice

I looked at (Y/N) and said," Crap I think we should stop for now." She nodded her head and just before she was going to say something the lights went off. "Taiga!" I heard (Y/N) call for me and I reached my hand out to her and she took it and scooted closer to me. I could feel her shaking as she kept a death grip on my hand and I said," (Y-Y/N). Y-your scared o-of the dark, t-thunder, and lightning?" I could hear the anger in her shaky voice as she said," S-shut u-up!" I pulled her onto the couch with me and we sat in silence. I stood up but then (Y/N) tugged at my hand and said," P-please don't g-g-go, I-I'm r-r-really scared." I knew my face was burning bright red and I was glad the power was out and I sat back down again. " I-I won't leave I p-promise." Then A big BOOM was heard and (Y/N) crashed into my chest. I wasn't expecting it so I fell back onto the couch with (Y/N) on top of me. Okay now I'm sure that I am glowing the brightest red. I tried to speak as I said," (Y-Y-Y-Y/N)!" She didn't say anything but when CRASH went off she hugged me tighter. I didn't know she could get this scared. I then flipped onto my side so (Y/N) was on the couch. I hugged her and stroked her head to try to calm her down and I said," L-look (Y-Y/N). I p-promise not to leave y-you so d-don't leave me o-okay?" She looked up at me and I could faintly see her red puffy eyes from crying and she said," O-okay. I l-love you K-Kagami Taiga." I hugged her a bit tighter and managed to kiss her on the forehead. She then tilted her head back and kissed me on the lips. I was surprised but happy. I kissed her back and then we released and we stayed like that for the rest of the night.
