Birthday Wish Kuroko x Reader

Kuroko POV

I walked into the dark gym and flicked the switch to open the lights. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I saw my team and the rest of the GOM standing there holding balloons and wearing party hats. I gave them a small smile and said," Thank you everyone." Kise came over and started to pull me over to the cake. He got so excited he insisted that I cut the cake now. I picked up the knife and started to cut the cake. When he finished his sliced he groaned and said," We forgot to use the candles!" Kiyoshi came over and said," That's okay! Kuoko do you want to use them now on your slice?" I shook my head and said," I'll use the for something else." Kiyoshi nodded and left. I felt something nudge my leg and saw Number Two. I knelt down and scratched his head and said," I know I am going to see her today."

~ FLASH BACK ~

" Tetsuya come here!" I walked over to (Y/N) as she is bent over and looking inside a small box. I looked inside and saw a dog sitting there looking very happy to see us. I smiled as I watch (Y/N) pick it up and said," Isn't it cute? Can we keep it?" I nodded and she hugged me. I stumbled a bit but hugged her back. " Kuroko, there you are!" I turned around and saw my team standing there and Kagami-kun said," We have been looking for you everywhere! You can't just wander off." Before I could respond (Y/N) said," It isn't his fault. I was the one who wandered off." She gave a nervous laugh and scratched her head. She hasn't changed much since we were kids. Reckless as ever. But even so she has such a kind heart. When I first started school no one noticed me, but (Y/N) did. She was so outgoing I thought she wouldn't even see me. But she came up to me and befriended me. I couldn't help it, but my feelings grew more and more for (Y/N). I remember all the times she thanked me when I helped her with something. She would smile and say," Tetsuya you're such a great friend! And I promise I will repay you some day!" (Y/N) showed the dog to everyone and said," But look! I found this really cute dog!" Riko looked at it and looked at me. She then said," You know it looks like someone we know." Everyone turned to me and then (Y/N) said," We should call it number two!" Everyone agreed but Kagami-kun took one look at the dog and ran the other way. But he couldn't get far as he ran into a sign and fell down straight onto his face. (Y/N) laughed and said," Taiga, are you scared of dogs?" He sat up straight and said," N-NO!" (Y/N) laughed again and walked over to Kagami-kun with the dog and Kagami-kun wasted no time to run, but ran into the same sign again. We all laughed and headed back started to walk back to our own house. I watched as everyone crossed the railroad and I was at the back, watching (Y/N) teasing Kagami-kun with the dog. I smiled as I thought how great things were going so far. All of a sudden a bright light came on. I looked and saw a train coming towards us. I felt myself stuck at place unable to move. Before I knew it I was shoved back and fell onto the other side of the street. I looked back to see the train stopped a few yards ahead and the team running over to the train. Oh no. I got up and ran to the front of the train to see (Y/N) on the ground with huge amounts of blood spilled. I wasted no time to get to her and she coughed up more blood onto my jacket. I took off my jacket and wrapped her around it. I held her in my arms with tears flowing down my face. She cracked her eyes open and said,"A-Are you o-okay T-Tetsuya?" I nodded and she smiled weakly. She gripped my hand and laughed a bit when she said," S-See? I ke-kept my promise." I held her close and looked at her face, Without thinking I kissed her. A few seconds later she kissed me back. I pulled away and said," I-I love you (Y-Y/N.)" Her smile grew even more and she said," I love you t-too Tetsuya. I've al-always have." I hugged her close to my chest and said," (Y/N) p-please. S-Stay with me." She nodded and had another bright smile on her face when she said,"Tetsuya. If I don't m-make it. I want y-you to know, I know you can b-beat them. Good luck. I love y- you.". I smiled back at her then she started coughing up blood. I wipe off the blood and stroked her hair and said," Of course. I-I love y-you too and you'll m-make it. You just n-need rest.." She nodded and her eyes slowly closed. I started to cry harder as I held her tighter. I heard the sounds of the ambulance coming our way. I felt myself break into a million pieces as they took her away. Before I could run after them I was stopped by Kagami-kun and he said," If we take a cab it'll be faster." I nod and I run to the side of the road and caught a cab. Kagami-kun and Riko came along with me. The rest would just catch another cab. The drive was silent as we rode to the hospital. I couldn't stop shaking and I couldn't focus on anything else than (Y/N). Once we reached the hospital I ran in not wanting to wait anymore. She has to be okay. (Y/N) is stronger than that. Once I got to the front desk I asked," Where is (L/N) (Y/N)." The lady looked up at me and then said," She is in surgery right now, please sit down and you will be called on when she gets out." I nodded and sat down. I could feel my world crumble around me as the minutes passed by like hours. Come on (Y/N). You can do it. By this point it is already one in the morning and everyone is asleep or pacing around. A doctor came out and I ran up to him and he said," Are you here for (L/N) (Y/N)?" I nodded and he gestured and said," Please follow me." We followed and saw (Y/N) with so many wires connected to her and machines around her. The doctor then said," She got hit pretty bad. So her chances of waking up is 50%." I walked past the doctor and over beside to (Y/N). I held her hand and squeezed it. I felt tears flow out of my eyes as I said," This is all my fault." Riko came over to me and said," No it isn't Kuroko. The doctor said there is a 50% chance she'll wake up. You know she's strong." I let my head fall onto the bed and on (Y/N)'s arm. Oh god (Y/N) I'm so sorry.

~ Flashback end ~

I put two pieces of the cake into a tupperware and placed it into a bag along with a candle. I walked out and made my way to the hospital.

~ Time Skip ~

I walked in and went into (Y/N)'s room. I made my way to the chair next to her bed and took out both slices of cake and placed one candle on top of mine. I lit the candle and smiled. I looked back at (Y/N) and said," Everything has been good. Expect it would've been better with you there. We beat all the GOM and won the Winter Cup. Number two misses you, we all do. But I miss you the most." I held her hand and found myself talking away about everything. I then noticed that it was already the evening, I turned to my cake and closed my eyes. I wish for (Y/N) to wake up. I blew the candle out and looked back at (Y/N). I had a small smile on my face as the tears came out of my eyes and rolled down my cheeks and onto the bed. I climbed into the bed with her and held her in my arms again. I knew a wish on a candle can't do anything. It won't work because she has been brain dead for the past week. I felt my breath hitched as I said," I-I love you (Y-Y/N). I'm so sorry. Just wait for me."

Reader POV

I hugged Kuroko but I knew he couldn't feel me. I kissed his head and I said," I'll wait for you Tetsuya. I promise you."
