~Imogen's POV~

After five days at the hospital it finally hits me how...messed up...I was..or am. I thought it would get easier, but it actually keeps getting harder...and harder.

The days were long and tough. However once every week we had a day for free time, which I used to read the books I had brought with me. Zandra usually sat next to me and drew in her sketch book, she was so talented.

We had gotten much closer after the span of those five days. I learned that she was the same age as me, 18, however she was older by a month; that she had been in the hospital for 3 and a half months; both her parents had died in a fire; and she was living with her aunt and younger sister...the poor girl.

We talked about serious things and then we would talk about girly things. I told her about Rose, and she told me about one of her past boyfriends...and one of her recent girlfriends. I told her about Aspyn and Miles, and she told me about her younger sister.

We do almost everything together, she is honestly one of my best friends now. Some days are really rough for the both of us, and when that happens we have each other to seek comfort from.

Today is our free day, so we are both sitting in one of the bigger rooms with other patients. We are both sharing one of the cushy beanbag chairs. Im reading, and Zandra is concentrated on drawing, she gets the cutest look on her face when she's focused.

I look up from my book and look at her. She's so concentrated she doesn't see me staring at her like a total stalker. Her face scrunches up whenever she doesn't like something, and you can see her eyes brighten when she is proud of something.

I tap her on her nose, making her look up from her paper at me. "You look so adorable when you're concentrated!" I say laughing a bit.

She taps my nose back giggling. "Well, you look so adorable with your cute little glasses and scrunched up face when reading!" She retorts laughing.

I blush and turn my head back to my book shyly. Zandra giggles quietly and moves to sit back down in the chair. She moves closer to my side and leans her body on my lap leaning into me. This girl is going to be the death of me.

She continues her drawing, but I can't for the life of me concentrate on reading my book. I try my best to finish at least one chapter but I can't, so I stop where I am and slap in a bookmark before shutting it closed.

I let out a sigh and lay farther into the beanbag. Laying my head back into the chair I look over at Zandra's rushing hand over the paper. It looks like she's drawing out some scary landscape scene, but I don't know...I'm not an artist.

I bring my book to my chest and close my eyes, might as well get a little nap in if I'm not going to do anything else. I snuggle even further into the bean bag, and Zandra leans more into me as well.

Most of the room is quiet, some kids are doodling, some are listening to music, some are reading, and some are silently watching TV. I don't fall asleep easily, I haven't had a normal sleep since I've gotten here to be quite honest, and I move around trying to find a comfortable spot.

When I finally do, I'm able to fall asleep after some time....and I drift off.
-------------------------------------------
"Imogen, Imogen...wake up, you're okay." Zandra's voice wakes me up and I spring up screaming. My whole body is convulsing in shakes and I can't breath.

A nurse comes up to me and asks if I'm okay, I can only nod. She gives me a weird look before running off to another girl who looks like she is causing trouble.

"What were you dreaming about?" Zandra's voice breaks me out of my zoning.

The weird thing is I don't remember at all what I was dreaming about. "I..don't..know." I say confused.

"Well you were shaking so much, and then you started clinging on to me." She says with a short laugh. "You started mumbling under your breath and kicking out too!" She says.

I blush, embarrassed. "I'm sorry...I didn't know." I look down at the floor.

"No...no, it's okay." She replies, before leaning over and gathering me into her arms. I hesitate at first, but then I let myself relax and move into her warm embrace.

We sit there hugging each other, and then Zandra moves into my lap...straddling me. I pull her closer to me and hug her tighter...this feels so right.

"Miss Huntley...and Miss Amador, please stay a respectful distance from each other." One of the nurses with a British accent breaks us out of our embrace, before walking away.

We move away from each other, Zandra scooting of my lap, and we sit side by side. I blush wildly and grab my book off the floor before getting up off the beanbag and going up to Lucy, who is sitting in the corner watching some patients near her.

"Where are you going?" Zandra says pulling me back to her.

"I just need to walk around a bit." I say softly, before walking off again.
-------------------------------------------
Lucy agreed to go on a short walk around the hospital with me. Most patients don't get to do that until they are here long enough to be trusted, however Lucy said she trusts me. I really like her, she's been the nicest nurse to me here so far.

We walk around the area, occasionally saying one thing or another to each other. On our way back she checks the watch on her wrist and stops, "oh goodness, it's already dinner! Here I'll take you down right away." She exclaims before heading down the hall.

We get to the doors and she opens one up for me. Before I can walk off she gives me a weird look and blurts out, "Zandra, huh?" And gives me a wink, before leaving the way she came.
