Life is never fair.

Nothing gold can stay.

Every good has an end.

Those are all very famous quotes by very famous writers. You would think that a woman like me who reads all the time would know that there is a twist around every corner, that these quotes above were not written without meaning.

On May first, Sunday, Avery gets discharged. Me and Harry go and help him settle into the new home. He is very excited and very happy about the new house but somehow tense about the condom box on his table that Harry left as a joke.

"You guys are not doing it right?" He asks to us and Harry and I put on our most serious faces and nod no.

Avery takes a very deep breathe and then falls asleep on his bed that we stacked with pillows to make him as comfortable as possible.

Laughing at the fact that I once got pregnant and its on YouTube, we exit his room and sprawl onto the couches in the living room.

"I am happy he came home." Harry says to me as I curl onto his lap and he starts to stroke my hair.

"I'm going to school everyday now until the semester is over." I admit and he giggles as he continues to roam his hands down my body, stroking my skin.

"I wanted to tell you something-" he starts when my phone starts ringing. He stops and tells me to take it.

Its Oliver.

"Ollie?" I ask and Harry seems to be unaffected, not one bit surprised.

"Allie, I am in New York." He says to me when I jump off the couch in excitement.

"You left Philly? God damn am I hearing this right?" I start to laugh as Harry smiles but looks out the window. I don't get why he is so un-phased by this.

I know he was a bit jealous but he is my brother so there is nothing for him to fuss about. Its not like there was anything to fuss about beforehand, my eyes see none but Harry let alone my childhood friend.

"Yeah. I got a call from a firm." He says, his humble yet excited voice roaming through the phone.

I can't contain my smile. I have been bagging Oliver to come to New York and use his actual potential. He was the first in his class and he graduated from a really good university. He deserves it.

"Where are you?" I ask, coming back to Harry and sitting next to him. His hands lock into mine and he stares at me with a glare I can't read. Whats wrong with him today?

"I'm at the old house. Its empty." He says to me and I realize he doesn't know we moved.

"We moved Ollie! We're in SoHo." I say to him when Harry's eyes find mine and he motions for me to hand him the phone. I do hesitantly.

"I'll send a car for you Oliver, be there in five." He says and hangs up the phone and then takes out his and calls Roberto to pick Oliver up.

When he is done, with an expression I have never seen before, he turns to me and leaves a kiss on my cheek.

"Its really good that Oliver's here now. He'll have the job he deserves." I say to Harry, trying to read whats behind his small smile and tainted eyes.

"Yes love." He tells me as he kisses me again. Its much deeper this time, filled with emotion.

"What's going on?" I ask, squinting my eyes and leaning into him. He embraces me before answering and smells into my hair.
