Chapter 79

Alex's POV

Harry goes when I am asleep. When I wake up, I see his haircut picture on Instagram. I decide I should make one as well and open one under the name AlexHill.

I decide I might as well post something so I choose a picture of me and Harry, shot in Los Angeles, right before I met Jeff. It was probably shot by the photographer they hired and Harry had sent it to me a few weeks back. Its a nice picture, his arms around me, me smiling, oblivious to the events that will enfold later in the night.

I close my phone after that and go out to have breakfast and go to school after a missed day.

I wear jeans and a plain white shirt over them with my Nike air force under. I grab my backpack with the essays I need to turn in and head out without seeing Avery or Ollie.

I know Ollie has been working all night so he must be asleep and Avery can be anywhere his casts and crutches allow.

I know Ollie takes the subway so I take the car for a change and drive to campus. I park my car and start walking to the school.

I know I missed school but I made friends now and I'm hoping to see one of them.

As I walk into the building and start walking to my class, I see Alice. She is very much sober and she smiles when she sees me. I get that as my cue so I walk over to her, there is ten minutes till class anyway.

"Alexandra?" She asks when I reach her so I nod as she quickly hooks her arm into mine, ramping down somewhere.

"Where are we going?" I ask as she starts giggling. She is way too happy and energetic than I will ever be.

"We are friends now. Alex, the other Alex, texted us saying he wants to go on a road trip." Alice says as she smiles at me. I take it as a joke and laugh but she doesn't.

"Wait, now?" I ask as I stop. I came to school for a reason and that is to go to class.

"Yeah. We are all friends now and Lucas and Jenny couldn't stop talking about you all day yesterday. I thought you might join?" She asks. I don't think she takes school very seriously.

"Rain check?" I ask even though they are the only friends I have and I don't want to cancel on their first time inviting me out.

"But it will be fun! We are all coming! Its only a day of school!" Alice insists. She looks really persistent and I'm flattered they want me to come.

Its not like I am a perfect attendance student. One day with my new friends can't be that bad. Besides, I am a little upset over Harry's absence and this would clear my head. I will have to return to campus to get my car so I can hand in my stuff when I do come back.

"Fine." I say and start following Alice out to the parking lot.

"So is this where you guys come when you want to get away?" I ask as I sit on the grass by the river.

Alex drove us out of the city to this deserted building by the river. There are grass and benches put by the one and only Blake and its actually a really nice spot to clear your head. Unless, its night time because then I'm sure you don't want to be here.

"Yeah. Its our favorite spot." John says as they all sit next to me, Alex taking a seat right beside me.

"I thought you'd decline." He says to me as he gets a stone and throws it into the water.

"You don't think I like you guys?" I ask as I fold my knees and wrap my arms around them. Its a bit chilly out here and the jacket I brought is not warm enough.
