Dedicated to you Luis. I miss you so much already, dude. Fly high and play FIFA with the angels. 😌💞
NATURE
"Are you sure we're not lost?" I ask Harry, looking over the map once again. "I'm pretty sure the lake was back—"
I stop upon noticing his annoyed expression. "Sorry," I apologize, folding the map back to its reduced size. "The lake was seriously back there, though. Didn't you say you wanted to go?" I shove the paper into my bag.
"Change of plans," he says with a shrug.
As we continue walking, the sound of dried leaves and sticks softly crunched beneath us. Both living, non-living and no longer living things had its rightful place here. That's why I'm so captivated by these woods. The components it's made of are fascinating.
About six years ago, you wouldn't have seen me anywhere near a mass amount of trees and things with more than four legs. As soon as I dropped out of Girl Scouts, every bit of free time I had consisted of me listening to music and running various band blogs. It wasn't until a year ago that I finally got back in contact with my once lively inner nature. I'm glad I did. Turns out I've missing out on nothing but beauty.
"Mmm, do you smell that?" Harry suddenly questions.
I breathe in. "What is it? I don't smell anything."
We stop in our tracks. "Soil. It's so strong." Or maybe you just have a sensitive nose. My mind counters back.
My ears then pick up on a faint pattering. Sure enough, tiny droplets were plummeting from from the light grey sky above. Not where we stood though, but not too far left. When I look up I see a stretch of clouds resting over that specific area. That's why the soil is emitting its Earthy aroma. Now I smell it. I remember being scolded as a kid for rolling down my windows when it rains. I've always adored the smell.
I smile to myself before jogging to the area currently being precipitated upon. As soon as the cool droplets hit my face, I find myself closing my eyes and releasing a refreshed sigh. Rain really gets your thinking. There's no place I'd rather be right now. Here in these woods everything on the outside is forgotten. As soon as you enter it's a whole new world.
It's not long before I feel someone's arms wrap themselves around me. Slightly startled, I open my eyes. "Oh," I smile when I see that it's just Harry, not a bear standing on its hind legs. "Now what if I had've had a karate reflex?" I joke.
He laughs and kisses my forehead. "I'd totally block all of your kicks and punches, baby" he cockily claims, winking at me.
"That's no true," I say defensively.
"Ok. Whatever."
"Ok. Whatever," I mockingly repeat.
He's quite as he looks deeply into my eyes. "You're something else," he finally says. A beat later his lips are meeting mine, making this a sweet kiss in the rain.

By the time we make it to the lake, we're pretty much dry from our short time in the rain. It was much warmer, so I end up taking my sweatshirt off and tying it around my waist. Here, the sounds of locus and low tides mixed as one.
That's when I see Harry picking up a rock and raising his arm. "Wait, no! You'll hurt the fish." I quickly grab Harry's wrist before he throws the object.
He turns to me with an amused smirk. "Oh, oops," he says sarcastically, immediately dropping the grey mass. I then release my loose hold on him. "Talk about a death grip, baby. Since when did you become such a fish lover?" He teases.
I roll my eyes. "I'm not a fish lover, I just care about the lives of animals," I state matter-of-factly.
He shakes his head and chuckles. What he doesn't see coming is the halfhearted punch I deliver to his bicep. The flat look he gives me afterwards tells me it didn't come close to hurting him. Not that's it's easy for me to do that anyways. He's like a... rock; to me at least.
Moments later, we both end up sitting in a mixture of dirt and sand, not caring if our pants were being stained. The view would surely make up for that. Under the rays of the sun, the water seemed to be reflecting its very own little stars. I was mezmorized to say the least. Having Harry here by my side made it that much for enjoyable.
It was just me, him, nature, and nature's self made little stars.

As promised, an imagine for you lovely people.
Thank you again for your kind comments on my last, very emotional update. Your words honestly mean so much to me. It's one thing when someone you don't know passes away; you feel heartbroken, but it's not too painful. Having one of my friends die was like a blow to the throat and heartbreak. The moment my principle said + quote, "I have bad news. One of your classmates died last night. Luis." My heart legitimately stopped for a mili second.
It's crazy how fast someone's world can be turned upside down. Appreciate the people in your life if it's anything you do.
Again, thank you guys. 💞
Oh, and I like the end of this imagine tbh (oops) ..... hi
