When I enter our apartment, Harry is peacefully laying across the couch and Lie To Me is on. Even though his eyes are closed there's a good chance he isn't asleep. Something he tends to do a lot is listen to the words of a show only. Not the whole watching aspect. It's odd, yes, but it makes him, him. And I love him.
Smiling, I close the door behind me and set my bags down. "Hi, I'm home," I announce, walking into living room where he was. His green eyes open and he smiles. "I know. Come 'ere." He sits up so I have enough room to sit beside him.
Complying, I take a seat next to him. The second I do, he wraps an arm around me and places a soft kiss on my head. "Hi," he says quietly.
I snuggle into him. "Hi, again." It was nice being in his arms. It felt like home. "How was your day?" I ask, curious.
He sighs. "I missed you. I was bored," he tells me. "Why couldn't you have stayed here with me?" He questions like a little kid.
I can't help but laugh. "I don't want to get fired from my job, Harry. And you could've went somewhere, you know. New York is full of exciting places." I playfully nip his neck and he chuckles. It's a nice sound, so I do it again.
"Mmm, stop it," he murmurs, smiling at me.
"Why, Mr. Styles?" I look up at him innocently.
He's quiet for a moment. "You know why."

Twenty minutes later, we're attempting to make a red velvet cake together. Our dinner was going to be chicken and rice leftovers from last night. When it comes to us and cooking things tend to get, well...
"Can you please crack the eggs for me?" Harry complains, wiping off his yolk covered hands for the third time this evening. When I shake my head, he let's out an annoyed sigh before taking another egg out of the carton.
I wasn't going to help him. He needed to learn for himself. "Just be gentle with it. You're always so rough. A light tap is all it takes, Hazza," I tell him. Literally all of our eggs were going to be gone before the evening ended.
I watch as he carefully hits the egg on the edge of the counter. This time the whole shell doesn't cave in. Smiling, I slide the bowl of milk and mix over to him.
He opens the egg and let's the yolk fall into the bowl. After that one he does the other two eggs. "I deserve a kiss for those." He bumps his hip against mine after setting the shell on a napkin.
I purposefully ignore him and begin stirring everything in the bowl. It's not long before the contents have turned a rich red. When my arm gets tired I stop. This is the downside of baking a cake, the physical labor part. Especially if you're as lazy as me.
"Here, lemme have a turn." Harry takes the spoon from my hand and pulls the bowl in front of him. He then begins stirring and his muscles flex as he does so. "How much longer is it going to take?"
Being the childish person I am, I say, "That's what she said."
His lips twitch upwards, but he doesn't laugh.
"Haz, you have to admit that was a good one," I joke.
"Yeah, sure. Whatever."
Before I have time to move, he smudges some of the batter onto my cheek. I gasp in shock before giving him a light shove. It wouldn't kill me, but I sure enough didn't want it on my face. He's such a pain.
"Pour the batter in the pan. I'm gonna go wipe this stuff off," I instruct in irritation, turning and leaving the kitchen.
To my surprise, the cake turned out great. Harry and I both had two slices after dinner. We learned that putting whipped cream on it made it taste even better. The contrast of warmness and coolness went good together in this case scenario. It was delicious.
Now the two of us were on our complex's rooftop, talking about any and everything. What a perfect way to spend the perfect evening with such a perfect person. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
End of imagine.
What? I was hungry, ok?
